And now Part 18 of the Traitor Game Essentials re-presentation of Traitor Game VII: A Galaxy Far, Far, Away. In this installment, Dastardly gets into trouble, the secret of Quinn is revealed, and Tendou wishes to discuss something with Willow.

Chris Lang 03-01-2007 10:26 PM

OOC: Actually, none of the players aside from Willow and Quinn actually SAW what happened in that whole sequence, though they suspected that something really unpleasant was happening.

Cologne watched as Willow returned to her quarters. It was best that the young witch rest, as she had had a busy day.

She turned to Evinlea. "Yes, Zasalamel admitted to me that he is part of a conspiracy. This conspiracy has apparently decided to target Traitor Game hosts in an attempt to stop the Traitor Games. So therefore, we had the assassination attempt on Darth Jubba earlier today. Every known member of this conspiracy has taken part in a Traitor Game. We may hear from one or more of the others before our stay here is done."

She turned to Tendou. "While this does not mean that Zasalamel is not a good suspect, Evinlea is questioning the wisdom and timing of your vote for him. You are the only one who has voted for Zasalamel in this round so far. Do you truly believe that none of the people anyone else has voted for so far is a Traitor?"

As Cologne awaited an answer, she noted that Dick Dastardly had been quiet for a while. She had no doubt that he was preparing another one of his crazy traps.

OOC: I've decided that the 'big exercise' will have to wait until the next round. This round's certainly had no shortage of action and tension, so the next banishment/kill will be on Friday at 11pm.

I doubt she would relish being sliced in half by a laser, Emma's astral form quipped. Then, the White Queen vanished. Seconds before Willow lapsed into a confusing dream, she heard Ms. Frost's voice in her mind. Brava, Ms. Rosenberg, Brava! Willow "heard" soft clapping.

While I couldn't actually watch your interrogation, I scoured Mallory's mind for the juicy details. What a fine line you walked, dear, and quite a formidable performance (from Quinn's perspective)! Emma smiled approvingly at Willow. If I may say so, you would have made a worthy Black Queen. You aren't motivated by something so banal as repressed sexual urges or religious delusions. No, all that passion for love lost...the desire to surpass your origins...the lust for power, coupled with magickal talent and frightening intellect. Jean Grey might affect a bombastic self-presentation, but her inner fires pale beside yours, darling! Sensing Willow's weariness, Emma began breaking the link. Rest now, Willow. Oh, don't let the dreams confuse you. That's merely your brain processing all the data of the day's events. Ciao, my wicked little witch!

Traitor Game Announcer: Welcome back, Traitor Game fans! When we last left off, Dirty Dick Dastardly was setting into motion his next diabolical trap for Martin. Let's look in to see what he's thought of now.

Hehehe. This should be a most devious deed. You see, I have rigged up this swinging pendulum. Attached to the end is a 100 pound sandbag. When that fool, Martin, is in position, I will swing the pendulum. The impact alone should knock him out! Mwahahaha!

TGA: Hmmm. Say Dastardly, this trap of yours doesn't seem too complex like your other ones. What gives?

I've decided to take a 'less-is-more' approach.

TGA: Hey, this might work this time.

He's in position! Here we go!

(Dastardly swings the sandbag pendulum, but it misses Martin.)

Drat! Eh. No worries. The backswing should get him good!

(The pendulum swings back moving even faster now towards Martin. But at the last possible second....)

Voice: Hey Martin! You dropped your pen!

(Martin bends over to pick up his pen just in time to avoid the sandbag.)

Double Drat!

(Realizing that the sandbag is heading towards him.)

Oh no!

KAPOWWY!

(Dastardly is sent airborne.)

Muuuuttleyyyyyy! HHHeeellllppp!

(Dastardly lands on the teterboard he rigged up earlier.)

Whew! That wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

(The sandbag breaks away from the pendulum and lands on the other end of the teterboard, sending Dastardly flying again.)

Catch me Muttley! Catch me!

(Muttley hastily sets up a few mattresses to soften Dastardly's landing.)

Good boy, Muttley. Good boy!

(Unfortunately, Dastardly misses the mattresses and lands in the Rancor pitt. The Rancor proceeds to chase Dastardly.)

HELP! Muttley! Do something! ANYTHING!

(After thinking about it, Muttley finally does something. Muttley begins tapdancing.....much to the enjoyment of the rest of the players.)

Muttley: (Snickers)

TGA: Ok...so maybe his plan wasn't going to work this time. Haha. We'll be right back folks!

Chris Lang 03-01-2007 10:36 PM

OOC: I'm glad I cued that one!

IC:

Cologne saw that Dick Dastardly was in danger from the Rancor. She placed her finger on the floor of the Entertainment Room, next to the pit.

"Bakusai Tenketsu!" she exclaimed, as she executed the Breaking Point technique.

A large rock broke off from the upper wall of the Rancor pit and fell. But Cologne could not see whether it hit the Rancor or whether it hit Dick Dastardly.

OOC: Hehe! Let's see what happens. :)

Martin again joined Muttley in an alien cacophony of laughter as Dick Dastardly's trap failed again.

OOC: Sorry

IC: Marcus ran over the pit with his Lancer armed. "Don't move" Marcus yelled as he opended fire on the creature. "If you are still alive, say anything as Marcus contiuned to fire at the creatur.

Cologne heard what sounded like an 'ouch!' from the pit, and possible cursing. As far as she knew, the Rancor never made sounds like that, so she assumed it was Dastardly.

One of the two portions of the trap door was closed, however, so their view into the Rancor pit was limited.

However, Cologne was fairly confident that Dastardly would be able to get out of this somehow with few injuries...aside from those to his dignity.

Still, she did try to help with the 'Breaking Point'.

Cologne turned to Marcus Fenix. "He'll be all right. Don't worry about him. As for the Rancor, I took the liberty of preparing something last night just in case it caused any more trouble."

With that, Cologne jumped down into the pit, and shoved a powdery substance into the unconscious Rancor's nose.

"Sleeping powder." Cologne explained. "It'll be out for hours. In the meantime, we can go about our business."

Cologne then headed to the door at the one wall of the pit, the one where the Rancor keeper entered and exited from. After knocking on the door, she was greeted by the fat man they had seen earlier.

"Yeah, what do you want?" the Rancor keeper grumbled.

"I wish for you to show me the way back to the main floor. And while you're at it, you might as well show Dastardly the way as well." Cologne explained.

"Okay, then." the Rancor keeper replied. And with that, he led Cologne down a hall, and to an elevator. Cologne thanked him, and stepped inside the elevator. After riding the elevator, she returned to the Entertainment room.

"There, that's taken care of." she said with satisfaction. "Now we can turn our attention to other matters."

Kevin M. 03-01-2007 11:58 PM

"Man this place is just keeps getting wierder and wierder" Marcus said as he turned to Cologne. "I'm going to get some sleep" he said as he began to head upstaris. "If ya need me just call" he then went to his room

OOC: Good night :)

Quinn had been tortured and his timer was destroyed. He slumped back to the main area where he collapsed near death. When suddenly a red slide portal appeared, and out stepped Quinn Mallory sporting gotee, and mustache stubble ala' Mirror Mirror universe:

"Man you guys are idiots. Yes I, Quinn Mallory am one of the FOUR traitors, thats right, there is a secret traitor you don't know about. However as a traitor our benifactor Darth Jabba has allowed me to keep my sliding tech. When I realized that I had been discovered I used my device to slide out and trade places with another Quinn, a trusting idiot whom believed we had a deal. The innocent man that now lies near death before you all. You all forget I'm a scientist and sport an I.Q. near 200, I'm smarter than you all together. Did you really think I wouldn't have a back up plan to protect myself?"

With that I pushed a button on my real timer, it activated something like a slide cage, preventing all forms of energy from coming near me.

"So YOU EVINLEA, destroyed the only means this goody little twoshoes idiot had of getting home, and YOU WILLOW, tortured a perfectly innocent man, whose only crimes were trusting a alternate version of himself, and trying to get his friends home. I told him that I could get Wade, the Professor, and Remy home, but the portal would only hold 3, he would be stuck sliding at random alone, and he actually took the deal."

I/Mirror Quinn sat down and kicked my feet up on the coffee table(without taking off my shoes... oh yeah, I'm that bad a guy, I don't even use coasters) and crossed my hands behind my head, comfortable in knowing that the next death had already been set in motion, and that no one could touch me.

OoC- I know outing myself is kind of a taboo but It's pretty obvious I'm gone so I thought I'd have a little fun. I've had the Mirror Mirror idea since I was chosen to be a traitor, it's the only way I figured Quinn, one of those really good guys would be a bad guy. Oh, and Schorn, that was really cool, if Buffy would have been that well written I would have watched the show more! Really I thought that was cool!

"Four Traitors? Unless you're counting your counterpart's role in this, I doubt it." Cologne replied.

"Since your secret's out, then yes, Courage and the other Rebel Alliance member guessed you. My guess is that you somehow disguised yourself as your counterpart to commit most of the murders. You even had your counterpart visible at times to provide an alibi. While you and the other Stormtrooper were busy fighting Batman in the desert, the other Quinn was seen inside. Is that correct?"

"Anyway, we will take turns keeping a watch on you. You will not escape this time." Cologne announced. "You will be banished at the appointed time."

Cologne stared at the unconscious Quinn with pity. However, that expression of pity vanished when she turned to the other Quinn, who she knew to be a remorseless murderer.

Cologne stared the murderer in the eye with a cold, icy, stare. "My only regret is that we are only sending you to Dagobah. You deserve to be sent to a far worse place than that."

Traitor Game Announcer: What a shocking turn of events! It seems that Quinn Mallory, or at least a mirror version of him, has openly revealed tha----

Will you pipe down! My head is still spinning from getting hit by that boulder, and I would appreciate it if you would lower your voice.

TGA: But Dick, Quinn just made a game-changing reveal! Maybe you should--

Maybe you should shut up! I am trying to set up my next trap for that fink, Martin!

TGA: You know what? Fine! I don't have to take this! I'm taking a break. (Heads to the kitchen.)

Thank you. Now for all you simple-minded people there in tv land, here is how plan will work.

Using the parts from the water tower I built earlier, I've modified it to make a simple pulley rig. When I give the signal, Muttley will slowly lower me down a few feet. When Martin is in the target area, I will drop this beehive filled with angry bees right on top of him. I guarantee this plan will definately sting! Hahahaha!

(Readies himself at the pulley.)

Ready Muttley?

Muttley: (Nods his head repeatedly.) Yeah-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah.

Then lower me down. Remember: slowly.

(Muttley begins lowering Dastardly down. But the weight of Dastardly was too much for Muttley, and quickly loses control of the pulley. Dastardly begins falling at a quicker speed.)

Oh no! Ahhhhhh!

THUD!

(The beehive breaks open releasing the bees. As Dastardly tries to run away for them, the angry bees begin stinging him repeatedly.)

Yowch! Oww! Ahh! Muttley!! Help!!!!!

Muttley: (Snickers)

Chris Lang 03-02-2007 02:07 AM

OOC: Since Quinn Mallory (the evil version) has outed himself as a Traitor, I'd probably move the banishment/kill to an earlier point and start the next round early, except that there are two loose ends.

1. The remaining Rebel Alliance member has yet to send in a guess. 2. The Rogue Watcher has yet to call someone to defend their innocence

So the banishment/kill will probably still take place on Friday at 11pm as scheduled.

By the way, don't go stealing evil Quinn's timer and smashing it. It'll play a part in the banishment update, so we need it then. :)

I had overheard the conversation and added in my two cents-

"Hell Marty, you could be right. She could have some ulterior motive, she could even be my partner, this could have all been a ploy to ensure the survival of at least one of the imperials. Think about it, after Deadpool is voted out, the rest of us get together, and vote on who to lead the charge against in order to throw suspicion off. No one would normally vote against her, if she outed one of the traitors... unless I sell my team mates down the river. Which to be honest, I was going to do in order to ensure my survival. To bad someone beat me to it. We could all get together and vote for her. I mean, you know I'm a traitor, but atleast you know what you are dealing with when it comes to me. Well that and people usually like me, lets face it, everyone talks about how they can't believe it was me, I was so nice a guy, you could keep me around and get rid of the bleached-blonde-bimbo over here."

I sat back and checked my timer's gauges, the slide cage around me was still going strong, but something odd had happened, the timer now showed 13 hrs, 50 minutes... I didn't program that. So with a soft chuckle to my self

"Interesting....."

"Quiet Traitor, the weight or your words should bear no meaning any longer. It is more likely that Martin is your partner in murder, and now attempts to throw suspicion my way. Besides, with your confession in makes no sense to try and sway the vote now. Perhaps you should have kept your traitorous mouth shut and you'd perhaps have a little credibility. But like all cowards you crumbled when the situation turned against you."

With a deep sigh,

"Man, you talk more than the "Good" Quinn did, and he never shut up. I confessed because at that point I was figured out. So, this way I can stop sneaking around, I'm more an up front kind of guy. And even in banishment, and even though they know I'm a traitor, my words will always be more credible than yours Barbie. After all I am Quinn."

I gave her a sideways wink.

OoC-I'm off to work have fun today all

Chris Lang 03-02-2007 10:39 AM

Cologne met with Darth Jubba in his office. She had received the remaining Rebel Alliance member's guess, and wished to have Darth Jubba confirm it. But she also had something else she wished to ask of the Sith Hutt.

"As you are aware, Quinn Mallory -- or the version of Quinn Mallory that was willingly working for you -- confessed to being one of your Imperial Stormtroopers." Cologne began. "I imagine that you are very upset with him now. But I do have an idea for an appropriate punishment for him."

Cologne told Darth Jubba her idea.

Darth Jubba laughed. "I LIKE it! So I'll allow it! Now, what is your Rebel Alliance member's last guess?"

Cologne showed Darth Jubba the piece of paper the guess had been written on.

"Ho ho ho ho!" Darth Jubba exclaimed. "Your agent's guess is wasted! It is WRONG! Your victory today means NOTHING! My last Imperial Stormtrooper will surely triumph! Ho ho ho ho!"

Cologne then left Darth Jubba's office, and returned to where the others were keeping a close watch on the 'mirror universe' version of Quinn.

"My Rebel Alliance member has guessed....incorrectly." she announced, with regret. "I have a bad feeling about this."

OOC: We all knew that last line, or some variation of it, would come in somewhere. :)

Chris Lang 03-02-2007 12:13 PM

OOC: Okay, since the Rebel Alliance member has sent a (wrong) guess, and Quinn has outed himself, does everyone approve of moving the banishment to, say, 5pm today?

That way, I can start the 'exercise' event at 11pm, which will be some hours afterward. This will give the players plenty of time to dwell on what happens at the banishment/kill before the 'exercise' begins.

Let me know if you'd like me to move the banishment ahead to this afternoon at 5pm Eastern time.

It's rare when I'm sure of any traitors-- or anything, really, so I thought it was the perfect time to bring out Dark Willow. I love the 'Mirror Mirror' Quinn. It's a perfect way for Quinn to trump Evinlea and Willow's attacks on him and proves him to be quite a talented schemer. Thank you for the compliment. I'm glad you liked my writing. I had the strangest dream last night. I think Ms. Frost was cheering me on or something. And some guy in a derby kept trying to offer me a plate of cheese. I woke up and spent a second to get cleaned up. When I finally walked down to the main room, I was in for major shock treatment.

There were two Quinn Mallorys! It took me a sec to adjust to the Doublemint ad from hell. Soon afterward, 'evil' Quinn was gloating about how I spent last evening tormenting the 'good' double who allied himself with his evil counterpart in an effort to save his friends.

The little weasel-- he played me. Then I paused, crossed my arms and arched an eyebrow. "And?" I finally said in response to 'evil' Quinn's revelation. "He still allied himself with you. I mean, yeah, do anything for friends-- I can totally relate. Maybe even sympathize, but he chose to let you get away with murder without exploring other options. He got what he deserved. You'll get much, much worse."

I gave 'evil' Quinn a hard glare and said, "I trust good little Quinn passed along my message? It doesn't matter either way. I'm done here."

I turned on my heel and started to walk away. "Oh, by the way, your goatee sucks." As I said my parting words, I telekinetically yanked some hairs from 'evil' Quinn's goatee and left the room. The hairs went immediately into the time/space pocket with a small flash of purplish light.

My footsteps echoed down Jubba's dark cooridors as I headed to the Rancor rumpus room. I looked around to make sure no one followed and leapt down into the monster's pit. The creature roared to life at my intrusion and came lumbering forward while swinging it's ape-like arms at me.

"Sit. Stay." The creature was held by my forcefield spell and roared as it held. I simply knelt down and scooped up some bone fragments and bits of cloth that once belonged to Kenny and/or Goku.

These bits promptly went to the same place as all the other things I'd been gathering. I flew right out of the trap and released the Rancor from the spell.

I adjusted my outfit and waltzed right back out-- the banishment was coming , I know-- major 'duh', but something else... was brewing. I could feel it.

Whell, now, ya dumbasses. Ya finally li-hi-histen to me, and look what happens. This jeckass (jackass, for those of you who don't know) decides to go AWHOL and tear himself a nyew (new) one. Well, frankly, I'm glad the little bastard gave up his identity, because it just goes to show that he was a coward, who hid behind a false identity of a version of himself who was mislead, and then did something ridiculously foolish, allowing his alter-ego to get away with murder. Dear God, we may get out of here sooner than I thought.

Gotta say, Jeff-E and Schornforce, interesting takes on the characters, and what's going on with them. Can't wait till 5 to see the results.

As Willow returned from the Rancor pit, Cologne greeted her.

"I knew that Quinn Mallory was one of Darth Jubba's Imperial Stormtroopers. My Rebel Alliance members had made the correct guess, after all. But what I could not figure out was how a supposedly decent young man as Quinn Mallory had been twisted into a remorseless killer. Only a remorseless killer could have done what he did to Courage the dog, or to Batman."

"Remember those confusing images I saw on the television? I believe I understand the meaning of some of them now. Someone was trying to give me a hint. One of the images, if you'll recall, was that of Quinn Mallory fighting with a double of himself. That was a clear hint as to the truth behind Quinn. And it happened, I believe, just as you were finishing with your ... how did you put it ... 'anger management'. I believe the timing was not a coincidence."

"Anyway, this murderer will soon pay the penalty for his crimes. But once he is gone, we will still have Darth Jubba and the last Imperial Stormtrooper to deal with. I trust you all have not forgotten this."

"Grandmother Said this: Chase two birds and you catch two birds. So, we'll take care of them. Thanks for the warning though." Tendou said to Cologne.

I saw Cologne approach again and gave me some very interesting news. "Oh wow. Jinkies. A mystery within a mystery, huh? Any idea who clued you in?"

...

"I totally haven't forgotten. I doubt anyone else has either. They're all that's standing between us and home."

OOC: Weirdopky, thanks for the nice compliment. :) I'm also quite eager to see what Chris has in store...

Tendou turned to Willow. "If possible, could I talk to you in private for a moment?"
Tendou turned to Willow. "If possible, could I talk to you in private for a moment?"
Cologne turned to Tendou. "You had better make it quick. For soon we shall have to send Quinn Mallory off to his punishment."

OOC: The writeup will be a three-part note. I don't want people posting stuff in between my three parts, so once I tell you that the writeup is NEXT, wait until the last part is posted before posting anything else, okay? Right now, I'm waiting for you to get done with what you were about to do before setting up the writeup.

"Oh. Sure, totally, Tendou."

....

....

"OH! You mean now! Sure, let's go. Please excuse us, Cologne."

Chris Lang 03-02-2007 05:01 PM

OOC: Waiting on Guy1 to write what Tendou wanted to talk to Willow alone about, since the story cannot proceed until that's taken care of. Guy1, to be brutally honest with you, you have really poor timing. I guess you forgot the banishment had been moved to 5pm and decided to go on as it weren't going to happen.

Well, I'll wait, but if you haven't continued by 5:30, then I'll say to hell with it and post the update. By the way, everyone needs to be at the banishment. Willow and Tendou are NOT off talking elsewhere while it's occuring, so I can't proceed with the story till you do that 'private talk'.

Tendou took her to an outside area. "Willow. In case I don't make it to the end of the game, I wanted to let you know I will entrust you with the rider belt and the Kabuto zecter if anything happens to me."

Chris Lang 03-02-2007 05:17 PM

OOC: Moving the banishment to 5:30. Now, try not to post anything that NEEDS a reply, so I don't interrupt anything with the banishment update. I hate to sound upset about this, but this is an unusual banishment. I think the next banishment will be at 11pm again on whatever day it is. But this one will happen at 5:30, which is a little under 15 minutes from now as I type this.

RUMINATIONS: Well, I wanted Tendou and Willow to have their little discussion, as I certainly want to encourage roleplaying rather than discourage it. So I decided to move the banishment forward so they could get what they wanted done before the banishment. Especially since the banishment would have a lot happening.

In retrospect, I suppose I could have handled it better tone-wise. These days, when an update is going to happen soon, the host usually posts a 'Update in a few minutes. Don't post until it's here' message so that what they post doesn't interrupt.

Ah, yes. Jeff-E told me he'd be going the 'Mirror' route with Quinn, meaning that there were two Quinns all along and we didn't know it until now. I thought that was an interesting idea, so I hinted at it in the scene where Cologne sees all those confusing images on the television.

Still to come: The dramatic confrontation with Mirror Quinn, where there will be some further twists. The re-presentation continues in Part 19.
