And now Part 14 of the Traitor Game Essentials re-presentation of Traitor Game VI: Back to Basics. The voting round continues.

Superheroic 01-23-2007 07:32 PM

"I'm not looking to influence your decison Hulk. You need to come to your own choices. I've voted for Jade Curtiss. With his intelligence, he seems like a good choice to be one of the bad guys." Cap pointed towards Dr. Strange, "Maybe you remember Dr. Strange, Hulk? You and he used to fight together, as the Defenders. He's voted for Power Girl. Most of us don't know who to vote for Hulk. You'll just have to make your best guess."

"Hulk will think about who he should vote for. Just give Hulk a few minutes." Hulk sat down and began to think as hard as possible as to who could possibly have killed Shrike and Batman and be in the Doom Squad.

The Rogue Watcher returns to Castle Doom to observe both Captain America and Jeff-E's pleas for innocence.

Hmm. Interesting. As with Dr. Strange, I shall keep noted what the both of you said. You both seem very truthful and sincere. However, I, as the rest of the players, should take them with a, as you humans say, 'grain of salt.' As you all know, this is a traitor game. And that means, ANYBODY can be a traitor. I remember in the last game, that insolent parasite Archie Andrews turned out to be one of the traitors. There is something really wrong with that boy, but I digress. I hope when you are called to the stand, you provide an honest testimony. It is only fair.

RW's Assistant, Donald: Fair?! You want to talk about fair?! Nothing is fair in this world! Nothing! Life sucks and then you die! How fair is that?!

sigh Do not pay attention to Donald. His significant other just recently left him, and he's sort of degenerated into this gothic/emo phase. It is getting quite annoying.

Emo Donald: If life was so fair....why do roses have thorns?

Hey, Rogue Watcher, I just wanted to say I'm sorry abou takin' your teleportation equipment, but if I didn't those people would've been killed by Rudolph. Anyway, I hope you can forgive me. Thanks.

Chris Jericho is exactly the kind of guy who would do this sorta thing. Make it seem like everyone else while in fact it was him all along. Sure, maybe he's not the strongest out of all of us, but I bet he could do some pretty bad damage if he was being supplied with weapons from, oh, I don't know, old Tin Face over here?!?! And my choices are not random. I've provided reasons for all of my accusations. And just because I don't go along with the group doesn't prove anything. I've always been a loner. (Except, you know, with the whole Avengers thing but that is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I don't really know how it's different, but it is.)

Ukyo turned to the Rogue Watcher. "You're right. Anyone can be a traitor in these Traitor Games. But Archie wouldn't have been able to do it without those Quantum Bands. We both know that under normal circumstances, each and every one of those other players would have kicked Archie's you-know-what!"

She turned to Donald. "Donald, I'm sorry things aren't going too well. But at least you still have a job. Even if all you seem to do is give the Rogue Watcher someone to talk to."

moonknight2099 01-23-2007 08:25 PM

Columbo spoke to the whole group "I'm not sure who the traitor is. And It looks like nobody else does either. I know I have to vote for someone so I'm going to vote for Captain America. He looks very fit and ... well I'm not sure, it's just a guess."

"Nay. I know not of these Poke-ay-mon. My name is Beta Ray Bill, greatest warrior and ...former... protector of the Korbinite people. I am an alien warrior from a far galaxy."

Bill spun his hammer around.

"Stormbreaker is indeed a fine hammer. It was granted to me by All-father Odin after besting his son in combat. I would let you hold it, but I am afraid it is too heavy for you."

Bill laughed. He knew not even Thor himself could lift Stormbreaker.

He bid Meowth farewell and continued on to Doctor Strange, who had just addressed Captain America.

"Doctor, I have come untrustworthy of Moon Knight. It would appear he hath admitted to the possibility of commiting the murder act himself, be it a separate personality."

Joe Acro 01-23-2007 10:15 PM

Beta Ray Bill found me once more and stated his case against Moon Knight, citing Marc's multiple personality disorder as the reason,

"Given what apparently has happened in previous games, you may very well be right, Bill. I have little evidence from which to form a decent hypothesis. I cannot say either way whether he is or isn't.

"Out of curiosity, Bill, do ever actually break any storms using your hammer?"

I chuckled softly at the question, as absurd as it was.

Deadpooligan 01-23-2007 10:39 PM

"True, Doctor, true. I suppose it is still to early for such accusations."

Bill listened to the Doctor's joke. Or apparent joke. Statement.

"Verily, good Doctor. I hath broken many a storm in the same manner as Thor. But I have a pair of questions myself."

Bill tried to sound as serious as possible. Alliterative proclamations were not really his thing. He preferred olde english prose.

"How hoary are the hosts of Hoggoth? Or how windy the winds of Watoomb?"

Joe Acro 01-23-2007 10:45 PM

Beta Ray Bill answered my facetious question and responded with two of his own, asking, "How hoary are the hosts of Hoggoth? Or how windy the winds of Watoomb?"

I replied, "Truthfully, they aren't all hoary. Generally, though, they are hoarier than the rain clouds you control. The winds are as windy as I wish them to be."

The Purple Skull 01-23-2007 11:17 PM

Two more Doombots show up in the main lobby

Doombot-54321: Oh my Doom! Oh my Doom! It is him! It really is him!

Doombot-2468: My Doom, you are right! Quick! Let us go up to him before he gets banished or something.

(Goes up to Beta Ray Bill)

DB-54321: We are your biggest fans!

DB-2468: Yes. Could we please have your autograph?

Beta Ray Bill: Um....Ay...I guess.

DB-54321: Please make it out to your biggest fan! Thanks Mr. Ed!

(Beta Ray Bill breaks the pen in anger)

BRB: Doust thou art not know who thy is? I am Beta Ray Bill! Holder of the enchanted Stormbreaker!

DB-54321: Really? Well..um...I really thought you were Mr. Ed. Those shows were classic. Wow this is very...um....(awkward silence)

DB-2468: Oh, you are Beta Ray Bill? I thought you were the horse from Ren & Stimpy. You know, the one that says "No sir, I don't like it". Boy, would my face be red if I was a fleshed being and not a manufactured robot made in Taiwan. But I have heard of you from my master. I heard you walked into a bar one day and the bartender asked "Why the long face?"

(Beta Ray Bill destroys both Doombots in anger)

Dr. Doom is seen observing the events from his control room.

Wow. Beta Ray Bill just does not get any respect. What's next? He gets put into a team that he has no previous connection with? Preferably, somewhere, like Canada maybe? Ha! That will most certainly be the day.

But if I'm banished because of you & young Jeff here, then you'll be disappointed to know that I'm not one of these Doom Squad members. Ukyo shook her head. "I'm disappointed in you. I would think that you of all people would know that origins don't matter. Would it make you guilty if you got your powers from being hit by a moon rock or falling into the Spring of Drowned Costumed Crimefighter at Jusenkyo? I thought you'd have a better argument than that."

"I'll be honest with you all. I don't want to be avenging the Shrike. The universe...ANY universe...is better off without sick things like that around. But the Doom Squad killed it for the wrong reasons. So I have to vote against someone anyway."

"I don't like having to throw my vote away on what might be just a wild guess. I mean, I can't really prove anything. But Spider-Man's been acting very strangely. He hasn't spoken with us much except to just vote at random. He seems to give no real thought as to his choices, and when asked, doesn't have any good answers. Is he just not caring that much about the game, or does he have something to hide?"

"I hate to say it, but I think our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man isn't so friendly in THIS neighborhood. My vote's for Spider-Man."

After hearing Moonknight retort to Bills vote I decided to speak up:

"Hey man, I'm sorry I just have a bad feeling about you... If I'm wrong I'll be the first to apologize but I don't think I am. I've taken alot of time and consideration in my vote and I am pretty confident with it."

Jeff-E 01-24-2007 10:40 AM

Finally I decided to address the group:

"Look everyone, next vote we need to get together, and discuss who we think the traitor is. Then cast our votes, we need to stand together, I watch this vote and it's all over the place. We're not consolidated as a group, and with that gives the traitors a greater chance for victory. I know it's hard to trust anyone here and we don't necessarily need to trust everyone just listen to them, feel them out, then make a decision... hopefully as a group. Sorry to get so preachy I just think that united we stand a better chance for survival than divided. Thats all, I need some coffee."

"I just wish he had a better defense then just giving us his origin story. He's been in a Traitor Game before. He knows that who we are back home doesn't make a difference in whether or not we're traitors. Someone who's got a strict 'no-killing' policy back home could be a killer here, while some sick creature like the Joker or the Shrike could be innocent."

Ukyo continued. "I don't know if Moon Knight did it or not. But I'm really, really, disappointed in him. He was smart enough to play a big part in getting rid of the Traitors in that other game he was in. I thought he'd be smart enough to come up with a good defense when it looked like it'd be his turn to be banished."

"Jeff, it sounds like you're new to all of this. But you've been doing good so far. You were right about Wolverine and Darth Vader. Maybe you're right about Moon Knight. I don't know."

Ukyo wondered where the three Traitors Moon Knight helped banish in the other game were now. She speculated that if they could see what was happening here, they'd find it very amusing.

"I think coffee's a good idea, too." said Ukyo. "I think all of us could use something to help us think better."

"Jeff, you're right. This whole vote's just crazy. With Vader and the Shrike out of this, we don't really know who to vote for so our votes have been all over the place. Dr. Strange voted for Power Girl, but that might have just been to get her attention. I don't know why Spider-Man keeps voting at random, but it seemed suspicious to me so that's why I voted for him."

"Meowth has his suspicions, but he hasn't voted yet. You chose Moon Knight, and some of the others are going along with you. Maybe you're right."

Ukyo paused, as if she had just thought of something. "We haven't seen that spy in a while, either. What happened to that James Bond or Bondjamesbond or whatever his name is?"

Joe Acro 01-24-2007 11:14 AM

In our friendly conversation seemingly filled with facetious questions, Bill asked, "Doctor, I suppose I will never understand the mighty exclamations of the Vishanti and Octessence. Art they veritable puns? Human euphemisms?"

I replied, "Perhaps you could associate with taking someone's name in vain. Such as when people exclaim, 'Dear God!' or when Thor says, 'By Odin's beard!' The Vishanti and Octessence are merely two groups of powerful mystical beings. I use spells left by both."

I then turned my attention to the conversation between Ukyo and Jeff-E.

"Jeff, I agree that we should provide some guidelines for voting next round. However, I hope that there is more evidence for us to use.

"I assure you, Ukyo, that my vote for Power Girl was not to get her attention."

Captain America listened to Jeff's plea. Since the beginning of Doom's game Cap has tried to support Jeff. He'd even gone as far as stating the others should listen to the man. Cap wondered what the best course of action should be. Cap had supported Mantis' vote of Jade, but Mantis had become quiet again, maybe she was meditating on the past day's events.

Cap had reached a decision. "Alright people, listen up. Jeff makes a lot of sense. His instincts have been remarkable since our arrival. So far I have supported him by words only. Now I will support him with action. Moon Knight you now have my vote. Since Moon Knight went out of his way to accuse me, I hope no one will hold it against me."

Weirdopky 01-24-2007 12:24 PM

So, Steve. Let me get this straight. You've decided to vote for me just because you follow the instincts of some guy you just met? For all we know, he could be part of the squad. Come on, you have more sense then that. If you won't listen to Stark about the registration, which I'm happy you didn't, then why is it that you're listening to this guy? I have no motive for killing off that kamen kabuto whatever his name is, or kenshiro. And the Shrike, I only found him eerie, but I never tried to start anything with him. When you all find out that I'm innocent, you'll be pissed that I'm gone. If I get banished tonight, I'm not gonna give you guys help, because you have no idea what you're doing.

Then, MK walks away into the kitchen, and pulls out a bag of Lays potato chips from one of the cupboards.

Superheroic 01-24-2007 01:23 PM

"Have you not been taking your medication Spector? You're annoyed at me for voting for you as a member of the Doom Squad? Did you forget who you voted for? Let me remind you."
I know this sounds rash, considerin' I've worked with the guy before, but I believe that Cap/Steve Rogers is part of the squad. He's one strong guy, and he could've easily used his shield to knock off those spikes. I've seen that shield cut sharper stuff. Sorry Steve, I know we've worked together previously, but we have to put our relationships behind us, cause anyone could be part of the squad.
"Your vote was for me, basically stating that it wasn't personal. Why are you taking this personally? You've claimed all game that the Squad could be anyone. So why would you be surprised I could suspect you? So far Jeff's made solid choices for his votes and he's become someone who's opinion I trust. And at least he's one man not looking to stab me in the back while calling me Steve to my face."

tangentman 01-24-2007 02:28 PM

"Marc, in light of your vote, Captain America is wise to suspect you. His vote is no less strategic than your own." Mantis looked at Jade and Ukyo. "Hear This One well--she did not vote for Jade out of spite or blind loyalty to her friends. This One sees the subtlety with which Jade spins his own accusations. Hmmm... Dat Stormbreakah hammer looks like it coulda taken ol Cactus-head wit' one swing... Billy-boy seemed real nice an' all, but outta ev'ryone, he seems ta have da strenth AN' also a nifty weapon ta take mosta' da competition out easy. Hmm.

Billy da kid ovah there ain't my only suspect, tho'... I decide ta sauntah on up ta Doctah Strange-oid an' chew da fat wit' him fer a quick second...

"Pahdon me-- what's up, Doc? I know dat ain't usually my line, but what da heck. I wuz wonderin' how powahful yer magic is... could ya cast a spell ta protect everyone here? I bet youse could toin ev'ryone ta Politoads if ya wanted ta! Why, youse might be da greatest magicianal guy since um... Moilin (Merlin) or somebuddy! I bet youse could do jus' about anyt'in' couldn't ya..."

Well, I gotta go now an' puzzle t'rough alla da suspects befoah da Mook in da Iron Mask an' big head get back.... Catch ya latah!

Hmm... I know dere's otha possibilities, but I t'ink wit' da evidence so far, dese two have what it takes ta transport people to dat freaky tree o' pain dat Pricklybot wuz goin' on about an' take 'im out latah on... Still, cuttin' folks up don't seem like Billykins' style. I'd t'ink he'd be more wit' da "smashy-smashy." Still, if a hammah can break storms-- who knows what else it can do...

And Strangey dere can soitenly do a lotta dif'rent t'ings... Mebbe strength ain't da key here-- maybe it's voisatility. I gotta t'ink fer jus' a few more minutes an' den I'll say somet'in, I t'ink.

Ukyo shook her head as Moon Knight chose to walk away rather than defend himself against the accusations. "I don't know what's wrong with that guy." she said. "It still seems too early in the game to be suffering from 'Traitor Game fatigue' or something like that."

She turned in Moon Knight's direction. "I'm really disappointed in you, Moon Knight. You were smart enough to catch those Traitors in the other game, but when it's your turn to be voted out, you don't have a good defense for yourself. And what was with all that bragging earlier?"

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm not voting for you. But I can see why everyone else is."

Ukyo honestly didn't know why Moon Knight was choosing to act this way. It was as if he didn't care anymore and wanted to be banished.

MK, after being made a pariah (outcast, if you didn't know what that meant) and went to his living quarters to think things over.

God damnit, this game is just weird. The Shrike through all of us for a loop. Now, I'm battling a friend who I need to talk to. Some guy who I've never met before has become the messiah of the group, and now everybody follows him. That girl with the giant spatula won't shut up, and half of the people in this game haven't really said much. I hope to god I don't get banished, because it'd be a waste of a vote. I'm not in the damn squad. I have genuinely never met that Dorian guy. Khonshu, where are you when I need you?

Then, MK fell into a deep sleep.

Khonshu appeared in Marc's dream.

Marc, you must work harder in this game. You can't get out until it's over. You need to prove your innocence. Go back out there and speak to the Captain. Don't brag so much, either. It makes you look foolish. Besides, you did get help from people. You didn't figure things out on your own in the first game you were in. You may want to check more before you decide on Steve. He may be strong, but I still don't believe he did it. Go back out there.

Thanks for the guidance, my Lord. I shall listen to what you've said, and take it into account.

Then, Spector opens his bedroom door, and walks into the main meeting area.

Steve, I must apologize. I've had an epiphany of some sort, and I believe you're innocent. To plea for my own innocence, I must say something. The statue moving and the teleportation to that tree thing, I don't see how they could be tied to me. As soon as I teleported the people out of the last game, the tech went haywire. I think they expired, or the Rogue Watcher did something to them, so now they've become useless. As for Batman, I can understand why you'd think I did it, because of the slicing, but I have nothing against him, and no motive. The man was an inspiration to me. I saw "Batman Begins" in theaters, and I liked his badass attitude. I've been told in previous games and this one that I'm a "ripoff" of him, which these people found out from "comics." Well, that may be true, but I have my own style, like the whole "wearing white at night" thing. Anyway, if you don't think I gave a good enough plea, well that's fine. I just hope you feel guilty when I'm banished and I'm not one of the squad members. As for my vote, I'll be changing it to The Undertaker. I know he hasn't said much recently, but he's still part of this game, and he could be doing it to hide. I believe there's more to him than we know.

Jade noted the rapidity that Moon Knight had switched his vote, and inquired:

"So Moon Knight, are you sure you made that vote out of pure inquisitive nature? Or are you switching to see if the others will be thrown off your tracks? Granted, this is out of pure inquisitive nature, as my vote is standing, but be warned that you may have opened the floodgates."

Jade then turned to Mantis, and replied:

"Granted, yes I do have that level of skill. However, why do that when there is so much at stake here? Besides, an EMP device is rather mundane for me, I have electricity spells, I would have used them to short out The Shrike, as opposed to an item with a chance of failure. In short, there is no ulterior motives, just pure logical thought processes."

The Undertaker stared at Moon Knight. "I am not the one who killed him. You, on the other hand, were the most likely member of the Doom Squad. Thus, I vote for you, Moon Knight."

Weirdopky 01-24-2007 08:32 PM

Well, since I'm on my way out, I might as well say my last words. This was an amazing experience...Oh wait, it wasn't at all. I've been turned aside by some of my closest colleagues, I've been accused of acts that I couldn't have committed, and because of many people not taking a part in this little game of Doom's, we have no idea who the hell could be working for him. I'm just glad I'm banished instead of being brutally murdered. At least I have some chance of leavin' this place after you guys finish this game. Well, good luck, everyone. You've wasted another vote today.

Just before MK made this statement, the Undertaker retorted to MK's changed vote.
The Undertaker stared at Moon Knight. "I am not the one who killed him. You, on the other hand, were the most likely member of the Doom Squad. Thus, I vote for you, Moon Knight."
Well, if it isn't the man who spoke so little. (parodied the name of the Hitchcock film "The Man Who Knew Too Much"), congratulations on voting for me. We totally understand that you aren't doing this out of spite for my vote to you. (Note the sarcasm) Well, I hope you're happy.

RUMINATIONS: Not a whole lot to say here. But of course we all keep in mind that anyone could be a Traitor in a Traitor Game.

The re-presentation continues in Part 15.
