And now part 23 of the Traitor Game Essentials presentation of Traitor Game VI: Back to Basics. Will they find the remaining Traitor?

Joe Acro 02-05-2007 08:19 PM

The commotion had gotten out of control. I decided to include my thoughts. I floated to the viewing portal and spoke my thoughts.

"It seems to me that if the Secret Avenger speaks up now, declaring who they are and what they've learned, this game will be over. The rest merely have to follow."

OoC: Tonight would be fine with me too.

Captain America stared at the others. Nothing he said had made a difference. He was tired anyway.

"DOOM!" Cap cried out. "I have had it with your game. No one here will stand with me. Let's end this! Get on with the banishment!"

OOC: The next update will be moved to tonight at around 11 PM ET!

Hiding in the shadows, another figure is present in Castle Doom. What no one, including Victor Von Doom, had realized was that this mysterious entity had been observing the entire game. With field narrowed down to 6 players, the figure decides to make his presence known.

ooc: Hey Acro, nice coloring, like Purp Skull said. I would do that, but since MK is mostly white, it'd be sorta pointless. LOL

Chris Lang 02-05-2007 09:16 PM

Ukyo sat by herself for a while. She did not want to accept what she was hearing. She heard the voice of Darth Vader in her mind. "Search your feelings, you know it to be true." Vader said.

Then she heard Cologne's voice. "In these Traitor Games, only the dead and the banished are above suspicion."

Both Vader and Cologne were right. Everyone was a suspect. No one could be completely trusted.

Mantis had sounded so convinced that Ukyo was the Traitor. But that was irrelevant now. Ukyo had a decision to make.

Ukyo tried her best to summon up her courage. "I was so sure Mantis was the Traitor. But now I'm not. I don't know what to think, now. Everyone's voted, and I know that at least three people here are not Secret Avengers. That would be me, Jade, and Mantis."

"But who did the others vote for? Captain America voted for Jade, and the others voted for him." Ukyo said, her voice quavering. There was none of the certainty there had been back when she was verbally sparring with Mantis.

"The Secret Avenger guessed right, and I can't possibly accept that the Secret Avenger would vote for the person he didn't guess. So who's the last Traitor?"

Ukyo was silent for a bit. She really did not want to say this next part, but she knew she had to. "Jade has the resources to kill Dr. Strange and many of the others, but he voted for Darth Vader. He also defended me when Mantis suspected me of being his partner. Why would he turn around and frame me for Spider-Man's murder?"

"Then there's Captain America. He looked so genuinely upset over the murders. Is it an act? Or was Meowth right all along? Is he being mind-controlled or something, and he doesn't even know he's committing the murders?"

"Jade's arguments are the most convincing." Ukyo said, hesitatingly. "I don't know what's going on with Captain America, but I can't take the chance that he's not the murderer. There's only two ways that he can know both Mantis and I are innocent, and we all know what they are. We also have to keep in mind that the Rogue Watcher reminded us that even people like Archie can be killers here."

"Captain America, I'm sorry but I'm changing my vote for you. It's the only way we'll find out how you knew we were innocent." Ukyo tried hard not to break down.

"It's better this way." she said, trying hard to rationalize it. "I don't know if you're being mind-controlled, or if you've just gone mad because of too many friends betraying you, but I think you probably did it. I'm sorry."
Kassad: And if the vote is wrong, the last agent will be killed off. I say he/she keeps it secret. Doom is not above lying to the agent.
"Kassad, I think Doom had some sort of agreement with the Tribunal or something." Ukyo said. "I think he HAS to tell the truth about the Secret Avenger's guesses or else the Tribunal will intervene directly. At least I THINK that's what's happening."

"Anyway, it's a win-win situation for the non-traitors." Ukyo said. "Captain America is either the last Doom Squad member or the last Secret Avenger. If he's the Secret Avenger, then we'll know he was right about Jade all along."

"If Captain America's the Secret Avenger, we might as well not have another round, and just have Jade get banished with him. It'll save us a lot of time and trouble."

"That sounds like a good idea to me. Either way, the game itself ends tonight. I just hope we can get our friends out of Limbo."

Chris Lang 02-05-2007 10:53 PM

Ukyo noted how silent everyone had become. No one was speaking. Not the people with her at Castle Doom, or those in Limbo. She knew why. Something big was going to happen soon. Captain America was going to be banished, that they were sure of. He had named Jade as his suspect. If Captain America turned out to be the Secret Avenger, they would all know that Jade was the last Doom Squad member.

Ukyo decided to finally break the silence. "Okay, we've narrowed the suspects down to two. Either way, we'll find out which of them is the murderer tonight. After that, I don't know what's going to happen."

Ukyo turned to Mantis. "Mantis, forgive me. Because of this game, I had to suspect everybody. And you were one of the better suspects. Both you and Jade. I jumped to the conclusion that you had framed Jade for Dr. Strange's murder, and then tried to frame me."

"That's the problem with these Traitor Games. You can come to a conclusion that makes perfect sense, but you can still be wrong." Ukyo sighed. "I guess we'll finally find out if you were right about Jade all along."

Ukyo turned to the other non-suspects, Jeff and Columbo. "I don't know what's going to happen next. But you two did great, for guys with no super-powers or special fighting training."

"Jeff, voting out Captain America has to be hard for you. But it's like Cologne told me. Sometimes there are things we just have to do, no matter how hard it is."

Ukyo sighed. "Things have gotten really crazy. And it's not over yet. I guess now we'll have to wait."

Part 1Another tense round of voting has come to an end. The next banishment was now! At the Hall Of Doom, the group awaited the results.

Ukyo could not finish her sentence. Not because she was caught up with emotion. Not because she may have regretted voting for him. But because she was bashed over the head by Captain America with his shield!

Mantis: This cannot be! You? Captain America?!

But the Sentinel of Liberty remained silent.

Jeff-E: So Cap was the traitor!

Yes, you fool. Captain America was the final member of the Doom Squad.

Jeff-E: How can someone like him agree to ally with scum like you?

On the contrary, Mr.-E. Captain America was too foolish and stupid to form an alliance with me. Therefore, I had to persuade him in a more “unconventional manner”.

Doombot-214: You slept with him, sire?

No you idiot!

Part 2Through the use of my Continuum Transfunctioner, my Doom Squad were outfitted with nanites that assimilated into their nervous systems. With a press of a button, they became my slaves ready to do my bidding! The beauty of it all was, they did not have any recollection of their crimes! Well, except for Darth Vader. For some reason, he had no objections with working for me. So nanites were not needed for him.

But anyway, it seems you have all won. You have eliminated my Doom Squad members. And as per the agreement, I am obligated to relinquish my powers.

BUT!

I had a change of heart. You see I have grown fond of my god-like powers. So I have decided to keep them and continue my pursuit of the One Above All.

Ukyo: You will not, Doom! Not while the five of us are still here!

Ha!

With a snap of his fingers, Dante and Darth Vader reappear.

Doom Squad, let us dispose of these infidels!

The resistance fought with all their hearts, but they just could not handle Doom and his team. With the resistance defeated, they are sent to Limbo.

Darth Vader: (Deep breath) So its is 4 against the One Above All?

Actually, it will be just me.

Doom blasts the Doom Squad, knocking them out. He then sends them to Limbo.

Fools! There is only room for one ruler in the Multiverse, and it will be I, Victor Von Doom!

Just then, the Living Tribunal and the Rogue Watcher appear.

Living Tribunal: Doom! You have lost. Now hand over the Continuum Transfunctioner and cease your pursuit of the One Above All!

I think not Tribunal!

Rogue Watcher: You have made a big mistake. Now you will fall.

Oh? And how are you fools going to stop me? I have already defeated all your champions.

Familiar Voice: Actually Victor, you haven’t defeated all of their champions yet.

What? That voice. I know that voice!

The Purple Skull 02-05-2007 11:05 PM

Part 3No it can’t be……Reed Richards!

Reed Richards: Yes, it’s me Victor. You see the Living Tribunal knew you were not to be trusted. So with the help of the Rogue Watcher, a contingency plan was made in case you did this.

So you are the contingency plan? Ha! I was merely startled when you arrived. But you should not bode a challenge for me.

Richards: That’s why I didn’t come alone. Meet the rest of the One Above All’s “Fantastic Four.”

In seconds, Doom’s worst nightmare becomes a reality. Through the portal, Squirrel Girl, Archie Andrews, and Dan Hibiki arrived!

(No! No! Anybody but them! This is too much! Wait, no! Get ahold of yourself Doom! You can take them down. You are the ruler of the Multiverse! Nothing must get in your way!)

Bah! You will all fail! Bring it on!

Archie made the first move…accidentally. By inadvertently tripping over the carpet, Archie set off one of the castle’s booby traps. A large anvil drops from the sky hitting Doom right on the head.

Ow.

Next, Squirrel Girl sics her mech-squirrels towards Doom. The squirrels munch away on Doom’s armor, short-circuiting his mainframe.

Bah! I hate squirrels!

Then, Mr. Fantastic uses his arms to wrap Doom in a painful vice.

Release me! This is borderline sexual harrassment!

Finally, Dan Hibiki steps up. With Doom trapped in Richards’ arms, Hibiki unleashes a Shoryuken, weakening him even further and knocking his helmet off in the process.

Curse you Hibiki! You cheater!

With Doom’s face exposed, the Rogue Watcher and Living Tribunal reveal to Doom their double agent, Perry Coma!

Traitor! And after I let you into my castle! You have committed treason!

30 seconds of the New Latverian national anthem was all it took for Doom to slip into unconsciousness. However, the song was so powerful everyone else fell asleep. When the Living Tribunal recovered, he destroyed the Continuum Transfunctioner and portaled all the banished players back to Castle Doom.

Living Tribunal: Victor Von Doom, for your crimes against the Multiverse, I banish you to the nether regions of the galaxy!

Nooooooo! I shall remember this!

(Doom disappears to Lord knows where.)

LT: The reign of Doom has finally ended. The multiverse has been saved. Your assistance in this crisis will not be forgotten. There are teleporters waiting to send you all back to your home universe. You may leave once you are ready.

THE END

OOC: Whew! Well that’s that! Congratulations to Jeff-E, Chris Lang, moonknight2099, tangetman, and Anthony Johanson for outlasting the final traitor, Superheroic.

The last Secret Avenger was moonknight2099.

This is now the Epilogue portion of the game where you may provide an epilogue for your character. Also, feel free to post your thoughts on the game.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Once again, I am taking a break from hosting the game. So the next host for the traitor game is up for grabs.

Thanks to everyone who participated and made this an exciting game. We made one hell of a story!

Ukyo breathed a sigh of relief. She tried to take in everything that happened, but failed.

"It all happened so fast." she remarked. "Doom's gone, the multiverse is saved. And we at least helped out a little."

"Is everyone here? Moon Knight? Meowth? Beta Ray Bill?" she called out.

Ukyo noticed the Shrike was back in action. She screamed as the Shrike appeared to have regained its powers. She raised her battle spatula, in a vain defense...

Only to be tapped on the shoulder. She turned around, and saw Cologne standing behind her.

"Don't worry about that metal spiked creature." Cologne told her. "The Living Tribunal told me as he let everyone in here that he placed a delusion program within him. He thinks he nailed everyone to the Tree of Pain, but it's all a hallucination. You are safe from him now."

Ukyo asked Cologne "How did you get here?"

"The King gave me a map along with a Whopper and fries. It led me to a dimensional nexus. From there, we found out about the special backup plan that had been worked out just in case Doom wouldn't cooperate. It turns out I had nothing to worry about after all. Very clever of them, bringing together Doom's greatest enemies as a special 'Fantastic Four'. I am glad you all are safe."

Ukyo sighed with relief. "So am I." She turned to the rest of the group in the castle. "I guess the castle's ours for now. But we really should be getting home. I guess now's the time to say our goodbyes."

OOC: I have to agree. This has been a great game. I think I had more fun with this one than I did with the last one. In any case, I'm looking forward to more epilogue bits as we pick up the pieces and go home. And Schornforce still has to show us the rest of the Meowth 'Traitah tradin' cards'. :)

moonknight2099 02-05-2007 11:45 PM

Columbo pulled out a cigar from his coat. he started to fumble around his pockets for his lighter. "Excuse me does anyone have..... Ah wait I found it." He lights up his cigar.

"Well I'm glad that's over. I was begining to think we would never get the last one out. Ukyo you showed alot of courage changing your vote like that. I'm glad you listened to me, Jade, and Jeff. It was the hardest round, but at least it was the last."

"I don't think anyone is going to believe this when I get back. It's just as well, if I wrote a report of this I'd be kick off the force. If you'll excuse me I'm off to find the exit."

He wanders off whistling to the tune of "This Old Man".

Anthony Johanson 02-05-2007 11:45 PM

Jade crossed his arms, and stated:

"Hmm... looks like I was correct on Captain America. I would stand and gloat, but that just isn't me. A word of thanks to those who didn't stand against me, and a word of thanks to all who were contributors in taking out the traitors. Even those who did neither, you deserve my congradulations. Even you Mantis, I see you are a woman of conviction, and I applaud you for that.

All matters have been solved, and with that I bid you all a fond farewell."

The Purple Skull 02-05-2007 11:47 PM

        • This takes place after everyone leaves Castle Doom

With everyone heading home, the Doomtations are left to sing one final song.

I dont know where this road Is going to lead All I know is where weve been And what weve been through.

If we get to see tomorrow I hope its worth all the wait Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And Ill take with me the memories To be my sunshine after the rain Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.*

  • Taken from Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday" Yes, I used that song. :p

"Goodbye, Jade." Ukyo told him as he walked away. She handed him a business card for Ucchan's Okonomiyaki. "I owe you a few. Thanks for helping me out with Vader, and with Mantis. I wish you good luck in whatever you're going to do next."

Ukyo pondered Jade as she watched him go. The 'necromancer' had been interesting company. He had been full of biting sarcasm, but he had been one of the cleverest and most insightful people in the game.

Ukyo then turned to Mantis. "Again, I want to apologize for everything. I guess I just let things get to me. I hope you understand that it was just the game. I mean, I didn't suspect Captain America until the end, and it sounds like you didn't, either."

"I hope he'll be all right." Ukyo said, with concern. "Captain America, I mean. He's been through a lot. I hope the Tribunal got those nannites out of him."

Prez smiled sadly. He was glad that the Doom Squad was defeated, and all those worlds were now safe.

He was slightly sad about Cap, but understood that a cosmically powerful Doom made him do what he did....Prez was still behind him 110%

Just then, in Limbo, the Dream King appeared:

"It is time, Prez Rickard. Please step through."

"Yes sir. Ready to pick up where I left off..."

"Your time in the America you came from before this game is done. A new one awaits."

Prez stepped through the portal, but with immense nagging doubts. There was unfinished business in that America. Would he ever get to finish it?

  • -reasons because that's what's happened in issue 7 of the new MK series. It was ok, guys. But seriously, I didn't last long enough, and now I get to gloat more that I actually figured one of the traitors out way before anyone else. Well, I'm not gonna take part in the next game. Ukyo shook her head sadly. "I don't get it. I suspected him, but I didn't vote for him. I even apologized to him before he got banished. I guess he was still mad at me and Mantis for bickering like that."

Ukyo looked around. Many of the participants were still wandering about the castle. Cologne had gone to the library, to study the books of the previous Traitor Games. The members of the special 'Fantastic Four' had apparently departed, but not before Archie had looked at Cologne with a look that said "She looks familiar. Have I seen her before?"

Ukyo didn't know what Prez Rickard was talking about when he referred to multiple Americas. But she hoped he would do well in whatever dimension's United States he was President of.

Ukyo was still looking around for Meowth. She wondered if he had a few more of those trading cards ready.

Captain America stood and watched the others. They mostly ignored him now. He couldn't blame them. Ukyo shot him a look of pity.

Doom was wrong about one thing, he did remember masterminding and committing the murders. He was just powerless to prevent it though. With Doom gone the nanites were powerless and he was free to go. He felt he should say something. But what?

"I'm sorry," Cap said. "I don't have any excuse for what I did. I should have been stronger to overcome what Doom did to me. I couldn't betray the Doom Squad, though I tried to many times in my thoughts and my speech to you. Still, I'd like to think at the end maybe there were clues I'd left that led to you to suspect me so that you would vote me out."

Cap was done. He activated the teleporter...

OOC: Wow. Good game. I gotta say its fun being a Traitor. I just regret I was playing Cap. I'd much rather have been a "bad guy" in the role. Of course I would have been a suspect much sooner if that was the case.

Now who'd gonna step up and run the next game!

moonknight2099 02-06-2007 08:14 AM

OoC: I had fun too. This is the first game I had a part. I was happy I was the Secret Avenger. I thought it made scents because Columbo is a detective. I could ask questions and point out people but it was in characture. Anyway I'll be around when the next one starts, already thought of my characture.

Ukyo had said nothing during Captain America's final speech. She really didn't know what to say. Before, she had felt such anger toward the last Traitor for what he had done. But now that she knew who the Traitor was, and knew why it happened, she only felt pity. For all intents and purposes, Doom was the real killer and Captain America was just a helpless pawn.

Ukyo started to sniffle. "I can't help feeling sorry for him. Not only does he have to go back to that stupid war with his former friends, but he's lost just about all the friends he made here, too. And all because of Dr. Doom."

Cologne approached Ukyo. "There's nothing you can do for him now. You can only hope and pray that he is able to recover from this. I have heard more about this 'civil war' since I parted company with Dr. Banner at Santa's workshop, and I know that Captain America's world has become a more troubled place than it had been in the past. The Captain may indeed be forced to make some difficult decisions in the near future. Let us pray that he is up to the task."

"I know," Ukyo replied. "I just wish there was more I could do to help."

"You have done all you can for him already by forgiving him." Cologne replied. "You will have to hope that things change for the better in his home dimension. Besides, each of us has problems of our own back in our own worlds."

The Amazon elder wandered off, sorting through her notes. Ukyo knew that Cologne was right. All she could do was wish Captain America good luck.

Ukyo went to find the others. There were others she wanted to say goodbye to before she returned home. Such as Jeff-E, and Meowth.

She paused to hand out business cards for Ucchan's to Chris Jericho and Power Girl before searching the crowd for the others.

OOC: I agree that this was a great game. All in all, I liked this one better than the last one. As much as I enjoyed playing Cologne, I loved being able to play a character who can show more emotion and who's not afraid to speak her mind.

Of course, in both Traitor Games I've been in so far, I chose characters who I thought would work as both Traitor and non-traitor. Rest assured that if Ukyo had been one of the Traitors here, she would have been doing it for what she thought were the right reasons (i.e. she thought it would help save the world). I rejected other character choices that I just couldn't bring myself to see being possible killers.

I might want to host the next game, using Darth Jubba the Sith Hutt, but this one will be a hard act to follow. This one had great roleplaying, lots of laugh-out-loud moments, some wonderful dramatic tension (I did have issues with the 'more than one kill in the same round' bit but from a storytelling standpoint, it ended up working very well, especially in that last round), and plenty of suspense.

I'll have more epilogue notes, and more comments later.

moonknight2099 02-06-2007 09:29 AM

OoC: I hope the next game is like this one. I think it's fun having charactures that would never see each other interact. We had some very unusual people this time. I had a blast.

Well, I'm ok with the multiple kills. After all, it was only inactive players that were multi-killed. There were even one or two kills that I did specifically with non-actives because I didn't want to off active players. Where's the fun in that? I wanted to reward active players in a way.

Actually, I have been thinking about an actual game mechanic that could be implemented that rewards Role-Playing and could potentially make less active players want to participate more. At least to the point of voting every round. I'm going to try and get it posted today maybe.

BTW - Cap never suspected you to be the Secret Avenger. Though you were going to be the next kill if I made it another round! Good Job.

Jeff-E 02-06-2007 10:20 AM

I stood and watched as several of the people who had been forced in to this game had left, back to their own worlds, though I still respected him, I couldn't say anything as Cap left the field:

"Well, it's been fun guys. Some of you I'm really gonna miss, and I'm not sure how to get back to a normal life after this. L.T. it was good meeting you, Ukyo, I'm gonna miss you. I had a blast, it was pretty scary at first but once I settled in to the situation, I was ok. I guess there's nothing left to do but say good-bye."

OoC-This was great, I had a blast and am really looking forward to the next game. Superheroic, great job, I thought you were the S.A. for a while, Chris Lang, you were a blast to have in here, and Schorn-the Meowth was dead on! Purple Skull you were a great host, and to anyone I didn't mention, it was a helluva time playing the traitor game with you all.

Weirdopky 02-06-2007 10:29 AM

I sorta had fun, but it was cut short when I get banished. I just liked to watch everyone squirm if they got it wrong. I would host the next game, but I'm in the school musical, and stuff with graduation will take up too much time.

"Goodbye, Jeff." Ukyo said. "You did great in this game. I know Captain America's proud of you, despite everything."

She handed Jeff a business card for Ucchan's Okonomiyaki before he left. She also gave him a coupon. "In case you ever show up in my dimension, that coupon might do you good. I always give my friends special discounts."

"Don't forget to look up whatever anime I'm in when you get home." she said with a smile. She waved as Jeff walked away. Jeff had his faults, but deep down he was one of the good guys. She hoped things would work out for him back in his own world.

OOC: Thanks. I thought Cap was the Secret Avenger for a while, too. And by the way, that dramatic opening of the last round wasn't just Ukyo talking. I really DID think Mantis was the last Doom Squad member at the time I wrote that. I hope Tangentman's a good sport about it.

Jeff-E, you did a great job playing the normal guy caught up in a crazy situation. Looking forward to seeing you in the next game. Of course, Ukyo still has to wrap up some things here first. :)

OOC: This must be a LONG time later, because the last time we saw Doom at the ending, he got banished to a distant galaxy. I suppose if my 'Traitor Game: A Galaxy Far Far Away' scenario gets used, it might be The Purple Skull's way of sending Dr. Doom to Tatooine if he wants to play Doom in that game. My scenario is set on Tatooine (but can include characters from any universe just like this Traitor Game).

Although it should be clear from the context, I'd like to point out that Ukyo's remark about the Shrike being the product of a 'writer's sick imagination' is not intended to be disrespectful to the creator of the Shrike and the Hyperion books from which the Shrike originates.

No matter who ends up hosting, hope to see you in the next game. :)

Chris Lang 02-06-2007 12:13 PM

Ukyo still had some loose ends to tie up. She had to talk to Meowth one more time, and maybe a few of the others. First, she decided to take one more look around the castle.

She walked around the halls, noting pieces of shattered vases as she went. Meowth's vase-smashing robot had been busy indeed. She also noted the ugly scars on the walls left behind by Kassad's shooting up the place.

Dr. Strange's quarters had been mostly destroyed. The horrible stench of fire and burnt flesh was still in the air. Dr. Strange himself had been returned to life along with all the others who had been victims in the game. Ukyo hoped the sorcerer hadn't left anything important behind in his quarters, because she doubted anything there was salvageable now.

Ukyo took a look in the Media Room. She saw that the room was a shambles. While the DMAX screen appeared intact, the rest of the room's contents were smashed to bits by pieces of the Jeritron 5000.

Ukyo realized this was where Jericho's 'accident' had happened. The last she saw Jericho, he had been restored to health, but he had looked very upset. While she couldn't blame him, she knew that Jericho should be thankful the Tribunal had restored him. The Jeritron 5000 may have been 'obscenely expensive', but it was not irreplaceable.

Ukyo looked to see if there were still copies of the DVD of the Doombot fight. She really wanted to take one home so she could show it to Ranma. But after looking around, she realized that all the DVDs in the room had been mangled and shattered by the debris. She sighed, and then moved on.

She heard a commotion from outside a window. She looked through the window, and saw a very strange sight. A Doombot appeared to be sitting on another Doombot's shoulders. Both were wiggling their arms at some strange 12-foot metal-clad figure in front of them.

The Doombots shouted "Mecha-Shiva!"

The strange being replied "IGNORE ME!!"

The Doombots shouted "Mecha-Shiva!"

The strange being replied "IGNORE ME!!"

Ukyo watched for some time, as both sides in this confrontation continued in this exchange. "What is THAT all about?" Ukyo said, mostly to herself.

After a while, she once again decided. "Never mind. I don't want to know." So she turned away from the window, and then decided to head back to where the rest of the group was preparing to leave.

She wondered what Meowth was doing since he had returned from Limbo.

OOC: In case anyone's wondering what that whole 'Grand Galactic Inquisitor' thing is all about, it's a reference to a Venture Bros episode. I haven't seen it, but I looked it up online (thanks, Google!). I just thought I'd mention it just in case other people here were unfamiliar with the Venture Bros show and were confused. And I couldn't resist having Ukyo do the 'Never mind. I don't want to know' bit at least one more time. :)

Would you guys like to do what we did last time to see who hosts the next game? Those who weren't in game V, to see who would host the next game, a few of us sent in a synopsis of our game's theme. Afterwards, we voted on which theme would be used. As you can see, I won the voting (probably cause I paid off some of the players to vote for me. $$Ka-Ching! Ka-Ching!$$ :p). Let me know if you guys want to do this and when is the best time to start the process.

Joe Acro 02-06-2007 01:21 PM

Banishment came and we learned, to our surprise, that Captain America was indeed the last member of the Doom Squad. After the Living Tribunal freed us from Immortus's realm, I was placed back in my body, restored through cosmic energy. Doom was banished by the Tribunal, sent to someplace no mortal has seen.

I said nothing. There were no words. I cast a slight spell that implanted everyone, save those from my universe and Darth Vader, with my gratitude for their company and their efforts. As Captain America made his way to the portal leading to our home universe, I quickly cast a memory spell that would take effect shortly after he reached the other side. He would not remember. I knew this game, especially his part in it, would affect his mentality within the Civil War.

I followed shortly thereafter. I floated into the portal, instantly returned to my Arctic sanctuary.

Uatu: "That was an interesting tale. I wish I could have watched."

Strange: "Perhaps you will be able to next time, assuming there is a next time. For now, though, you must watch the turmoil in America. Such a momentous event needs to be viewed and remembered."

Uatu: "Indeed. Did you ever learned the name of this Rogue Watcher? I do not believe that there is such a being in this universe. I would need a name to be sure."

Strange: "No, Uatu. I never did learn his name. Perhaps some other time."

Uatu: "Perhaps."

And with that, The Watcher disappeared and returned to his duty of watching the large and small events of Earth. Doctor Strange remained in the quiet of the Arctic, awaiting the end of the conflict in the country he called home.

OOC: I had fun, though players not playing is getting to be frustrating. I'm all for a vote for next game, just like last time.

RUMINATIONS: Well, as far as finding the Traitor goes, this was an incredible finale. The final confrontation with Doom could have been better, though, as the player characters weren't really involved in it. But that's a subject I'll get into when I do the Essentials representation of Traitor Game VII.

The use of nannites was a good way of explaining how someone like Captain America could be forced against his will into being a Traitor. In the Traitor Games, we come up with all sorts of ways to explain how people could end up being Traitors when the activities associated with the Traitor role are things they wouldn't normally do. Possession, nanites, mind control, coercion, and all sorts of other methods have been applied, and they work out pretty well.

In any case, here's where the epilogues begin and the players begin to go their seperate ways. This was an emotional roller coaster for some of them, and it shows in the epilogues. More to come in Part 24.
