And now Part 24 of the Traitor Game Essentials re-presentation of Traitor Game VI: Back to Basics. Things are calming down now, and everyone prepares to return home after a long and emotionally draining experience for many of them.

OOC: I'm so upset that I was outed early in the game. I should had played a little different than I did. well at least Darth has a empty castle to play in and doom-bots to command and love.

As long as you've been playing, you hadn't been a traitor.
OOC: I had fun, though players not playing is getting to be frustrating. I'm all for a vote for next game, just like last time.
Working on something that may change that a little bit. :)
Here were some of my favorite moments of the game: The Doombot battle of course. Indigo Al's sit-in with the Doombots Schornforce's portrayl of Meowth 'Traitah Tradin Cards' - 'Nuff Said

Would you guys like to do what we did last time to see who hosts the next game? Those who weren't in game V, to see who would host the next game, a few of us sent in a synopsis of our game's theme. Afterwards, we voted on which theme would be used. As you can see, I won the voting (probably cause I paid off some of the players to vote for me. $$Ka-Ching! Ka-Ching!$$ :p). Let me know if you guys want to do this and when is the best time to start the process.
The favorite moments you listed above are on my list of favorite moments, too. And even though I had a little problem with the concept of the multiple murders, I think having the last kill be four people really helped make that last round all the more tense. From a story perspective, it worked out. The last Traitor had gone on a tear, and left only a few left. The last round and the Doombot round are my two favorite rounds of this game.

I think having a vote might be a good idea, though we might want to wait and see if there are a few epilogue bits before we do it. I'm still hoping for Schornforce to come through with the 'Traitah Tradin' Cards' of the characters he didn't get to the first time. In any case, I'll probably do a few more epilogue bits, and eventually post my possible Traitor Game scenario here (since I've already mentioned it a bit already).

Pheonix-NoRelation 02-06-2007 04:06 PM

Whoa. Just, just, whoa.

OOC: Great, intense game. Can't wait till next game.
Whoa. Just, just, whoa.

OOC: Great, intense game. Can't wait till next game.
"I can't blame you for feeling overwhelmed, Spider-Man. That whole last round was just...intense. That's what it was."

"I hope you heard my apology from Limbo. I'm sorry I brought up what happened to Gwen. I was upset at the time. And I don't blame you for suspecting me. It's the game, after all. I made the same mistake with Mantis. I hope she'll forgive me."

Ukyo looked around. She didn't see the Monarch, the Hulk, or Kabuto anywhere. She assumed that they'd probably gone home immediately after the Tribunal returned them from Limbo. It wouldn't surprise her, however, to find out that Meowth was still in the castle trying to scrounge up a few more surprises, and maybe take home a few souvenirs.

OOC: I have to agree. The last round in particular was probably the most intense of all the rounds. It's great now to just relax now that the game itself is ended. Of course, we'll probably start suggesting scenarios for the next Traitor Game later in the week.

Schornforce 02-06-2007 05:48 PM

OOC: Wow. I miss one day (really busy at work so far this week)-- and alla' this happens! :) Great job, everyone! I really enjoyed reading this. It was so much fun! It was like one of those murder mystery dinner theater plays or something. The only thing is I wish there was a way to investigate for physical clues, but that's too difficult to do. I do love the character interactions and the humor-- singing Doombots, Ukyo and Meowth's friendship, Jeff-E's hero worship of Cap, Darth Vader talking about Batman, etc.

I'm almost done with the second batch of cards. I'll try and finish them tonight and scan them in. Then, perhaps, I can post them tommorrow... or Thursday... depending on how busy work is. Of course, I'll do Meowth's epilogue and goodbye to Ukyo when I post the rest of the cards. Sorry I'm behind on all of this.

This is all so fun, I can't wait to try someone new for the next Traitor game (I love playing Meowth, but don't want him to get "old," so I'll go with someone totally different next time).

Thanks for Playing Schornface! You and Purple Skull had me LOL. Sorry Cap killed ya. That was more of a Psychological attack then anything else...

BTW - Working on something that might work for the physical clue aspect of the game. Something that'll let every Player affect the game in some way. Unless no one is really interested in exploring an added dimension to the game and want to leave it as is. Let me know how you guys feel.

I thought I'd have it done today but tomorrow is more likely.

The Purple Skull 02-06-2007 07:03 PM

For those curious, here were the messages I got from the traitors detailing their kills.
I'm game if Skull wants to allow it. Ok let's do it this way. Instead of the amphitheater thing (we'll do that later), since Shrike likes to use the Tree of thorns thing to hang his victims on, lets do THAT! We lure Kenshiro away from the others, vivisect him, and prepare to use Doom's Time Machine to transport his vivisected body to the Tree of thorns. (Since the tree is in the far future I figure this will be ok.) When we are about to teleport, Kamen Kabuto Rider, stumbles upon us and we do him too. Then just string both up together. To show off the kill Doom takes everyone into a multimedia room with a HUGE Television that shows the bodies strung up on the Tree. Then cut to Limbo where Kenshio and Kamen's souls are at.

If this is no good Skull. Use the amphitheater idea where Kenshiro is crushed under Doom's favorite HUGE statue of himself and we'll vivisect Kamen as he stumbles upon our handiwork.

I hate to throw a wrench in the works but if Shrike is not eliminated and Darth is, Dante and Cap are gonna go after Shrike. This is how we do it:

Cap has some equipment with him when he was ready to fight Iron Man before he was pulled to the Traitor Game. He's got a mini-emp which he was gonna use on Stark. Instead he uses it on Shrike. It completely short-circuits Shrike rendering it inert. Then its just a matter of time while Cap and Dante smash it into bits. In fact for the reveal you can bring everyone into the kitchen and show off Doom's new cutlery supplied by...The DOOM SQUAD!

I like Kain's idea. It's almost as if we were lying in wait as a trap.

Luffy walks through a large room with a large stained glass ceiling depicting Doom's Final Triumph Over the Accursed Fantastic Four (More Specifically Reed Richards). As he's in the middle of the room. The glass is broken. Causing large sharp shards to fall on Luffy. cutting him up and decapitating him. The reason for the glass breaking is because Cap throws his Shield through it.
Kain -- Could we used Dante's Devil Trigger to maybe cause the glass breakage? I'd like to make it seem like lightning was used to break the glass. This should put some suspicion on Beta Ray Bill or Doctor Strange.

For the next kill I'm thinking of Arthur Dent, smashed with a large flat piece of metal. This is from the Inactive List. We will also be killing someone from the active list. Not sure who yet.
Please change this to found in a dark corner in the basement, a kitchen spatula shoved through his heart.

Time to really play some mind games with these guys. Dante and Cap corner the little bugger and set him on fire. Crispy Critters!

This will be good for tonight (Friday). If we postpone until Sunday then I may change my mind depending on how the voting goes. But for now I'm sure most will see this as a despicable act. Ukyo will be the most upset. Jeff E too most likely. Plus it will seem as if Undertaker or Dr. Strange performed the act.
The Purple Skull 02-06-2007 07:06 PM

And here's the last batch
Ok for the Prez I want to make it look like either Beta Ray Bill or Spider-Man killed him.

If Bill is not banished this is how it goes:

We bash the back of the Prez' skull in with a large blunt object. It could be Cap's Shield or Dante's sword or anything lying around.

If Bill is banished:

We take some of Spider-Man's webbing from the fight with the Doombot and hang the Prez from them, hanging him from the ceiling.

As for the Monarch:

It seems the Doom Squad would lay in wait for the "frozen" players to awake. It just so happens that the Monarch comes out of this state and demands the Doom Squad work for him. Well, we don't like that. We take his armor off and toss him off a balcony where he falls to his death.

Well it doesn't look good for Dante this round. I may have to send a vote your way to keep suspicion off me for a little while longer Kain. I guess it depends on how the other votes go. I assume Mantis will vote for Jade. I could vote for Jade or Bond again. Who knows how Ukyo will vote. I assume Jade will vote for you again this round. Its quite a pickle we're in.

As I was typing this Ukyo Voted for Dante. That will just about seal it. I'm gonna have to vote for you too Kain. Sorry. If you make a vote today, Jade would be a good choice for you.

Now for Strange's death I'd like to make it look like Jade did the killing so here is what I propose:

After the banishment I head to Strange's quarters and flood the floor with water. As soon as Strange enters and steps in the water, ZAP! I hit the floor with electricity. This probably won't kill the Sorcerer Supreme, so I rush him, after the electricity subsides, and chop a hand off with my Shield by slamming it between the Shield and the floor. Then when he's all, "Ow! You've crippled me! My beautiful hand!" I stab him through the heart with some kind of blade. I then mix some kind of fire concoction up and blast the walls with it, make it look like some kind of Mage battle happened.

I got it. I was gonna do Ukyo in this way but I may as well do Spider-Man. While fighting the Doombots I described how I watched the others fight. So, this is how it goes:

Spider-Man's Spider-sense goes off, he knows someone is after him. He actually gets the drop on me. After a short fight, I manage to unmask him. Quickly I shove an okonomiyaki pancake I had stashed away in his mouth. The Okonomiyaki had an explosive in it. No more Spider-Head.

The other way we can describe it happening is we just find Spider-Man in the kitchen with his head blown off. I can make it look like he went in for a midnight snack and just ate a explosive booby-trapped okonomiyaki pancake. Maybe that's better to keep suspicion off me?

Cool. Something tells me I'm not gonna make it through this though. If it comes down to Jeff, Columbo and me, well I'm getting voted out. It looks like I may have to kill them first. Well, Columbo at least. Ukyo seems to be on my side so I can't eliminate her yet. Mantis also, as long as I keep Jade there she should vote for him. Jade's a problem, I'd like to kill him but maybe I shouldn't yet? I gotta think on the kill. As for Hulk, Power-Girl, and Jericho?

Hulk is not so hard to kill. Basically, I manage to talk to him, calm him down, to the point where he turns back into Banner. When he does I very quickly snap his neck. So all we find is Banner's body, head twisted all the way around.

Jericho is easy too. He's just a man. But I like working in the Jeritron bit. It probably goes something along the line of an ass-kicking, then having the Jeritron collapsed on top of him. Not necessarily me picking it up and hitting him with it. Maybe there are puncture marks all over his body, about the size of a spatula blade maybe?

Power-Girl is a problem. How about this? I use something from one of Doom's labs. It bathes Power-Girl in the rays of a Red Sun. When she is depowered, I knock her unconcious and toss her into the Castle's immensely powerful incinerators?

Gotta think on the normal kill too. This is just a brain dump so bear with me. I could probably try and get Jade voted out. It really depends on how Columbo and Jeff vote. Columbo already voted for me once so this is gonna be a tough round. I know Mantis should vote for Jade. If that happens, well Ukyo made an enemy of Mantis so Mantis should vote her way if I kill Jeff or Columbo. It looks like if I can get a kill in, it will be Columbo. Method? I pluck out his glass eye and choke him on it. Again though, depends on how the banishment goes.
Of course I'll have a few more epilogue posts, including Ukyo saying goodbye to Meowth, but after she returns home and I post my last epilogue post, I'll give her a break for a while. After all she's been through in this game, she's earned it.

The Purple Skull 02-06-2007 08:00 PM
So nobody wondered why I was writing in italics the whole time?
Was it because Dr. Strange communicated with everyone while in his astral projection?

Chris Lang 02-06-2007 08:04 PM

OOC: For what it's worth, Superheroic, I think you made the right kill choices. They made sense from the way things had been going. Yes, killing Meowth was a great way of messing with Ukyo so she'd agonize over who to vote for and then pick one of the remaining lightning wielders (Jade, Beta Ray Bill, or Dante) at random. If Dante had been active more, Ukyo would have voted for him in that round.

And yes, you made the right choice in doing in Spider-Man and trying to pin the blame on Ukyo again. Made that last round all the more exciting and dramatic. And by the way, by the time that last PM was posted, I'd probably already voted for Mantis. I really thought Mantis was the killer at that point. It sounds like tangentman really thought Ukyo was the killer at that point, too.

By the way, Ukyo's line about the spatula murder "If I hadn't been so upset over what happened to Meowth, I would have laughed at the killers' pathetic attempt to pin Dent's murder on me" kind of sums up my reaction. I was sad to see Meowth get killed (though I saw it coming), but I just had to laugh at that attempt to frame Ukyo.

Interesting that you did it that way, because a day or so earlier, I had PMed the Purple Skull, and sort of jokingly told him I was disappointed that no one suspected Ukyo of the murders. At least with the Shrike, she had a motive. Her practically daring the Doom Squad to do in the Shrike if he wasn't voted out was another thing that could be considered suspicious (as well as her being the first to bring up the possibility that Arthur Dent had already been murdered). Just goes to show I should be careful what I wish for, right?

Anyway, I had fun being wrongfully accused, since it didn't really happen in the last game. I wanted to have Ukyo counter Mantis with some 'Madonna' insults ("When it comes to these Traitor Games, you're like a virgin!" "I didn't think you were such a Material Girl!") but I thought attacking her with bad puns would only hurt the case I was trying to give. If it weren't for the the Secret Avenger guessing right in that round, I'm betting either Ukyo or Mantis would have been banished.

Even though the multi-kill thing seemed unfair, it was for the best that it happened. Otherwise, you'd end up with a bunch of inactive players, and a voting round that would go on as long as the 'Mecha-Shiva' Doombots' exchange with the Grand Galactic Inquisitor (in other words, God only knows when it would end). :)

Pheonix-NoRelation 02-06-2007 08:10 PM

Wow. Very detailed accounts of how everyone was/was to be killed. When I was a member of the Suicide Squad i just said it in a very "Clue"-sy way. For instance, it would have been: "Prez, by Spider-Man's webbing, hanging from the ceiling!"

Oh. Right. Epiloguery. (Oh and hey, Schornforce, got a good idea for a Traing Card for ol' Horseface?)

IC:

Beta Ray Bill was at last pleased that the remaining heroes banded together to stop the squad. He bid farewell to the good Dr. Strange, the friendly anthropomorphic cat Meowth, and Ukyo the spatula wielder. And Jeff-E, because he's a pretty rad dude anyway.

Bill returned to Earth, Manhattan actually, as Simon Walters. Then, hammer in hand, he chased after Spider-Man for being a jerk and accusing him of being traitorous during his last tenure in the game.

OOC: I'm VERY interested to see how Schornforce handles the 'Beta Ray Bill Meowth'.

IC:

Ukyo waved as Beta Ray Bill made his exit. She was sorry that she had not listened to him, and that she had missed a chance to vote out Dante one round earlier.

Cologne approaced Ukyo, carrying a bag filled with papers. "I have just finished my work in the library. I have copied down all the information from those Traitor Game books that I feel I need."

"Why didn't you just take the books?" Ukyo asked.

"Do not get me wrong." Cologne began. "I was opposed to Dr. Doom and his plan of conquest from the start. I guessed something like this might be coming when we were nearing the end of the game in Santa's workshop. I attempted to keep him from taking the Continuum Transfunctioner with him, but he managed to return here with it, anyway."

"However, I believe it is best that we not steal from his library. He may have been banished to a galaxy far far away, but that does not mean he will never return." Cologne continued. "It may be months, or even years, before he ever returns here, but it is best not to incur his wrath by stealing from him."

Ukyo changed the subject. "This whole Traitor Game has been crazy. I mean, I was so sure Captain America wasn't the Traitor because he seemed like he really didn't know who the Traitors were. Then I find out that some nanites made him do it."

Cologne nodded. "Indeed, that is a very disturbing turn of events. But try to look back at everything that happened in the game. Chances are you'll see everything that happened in a different light now that you know who the Traitors are and why they were doing it."

"I have." Ukyo said. "A lot of things have started making sense now. When I suggested that we search for Arthur Dent, Captain America was the first one to actually jump and do it. He also seemed to spend more time looking at the bodies than the rest of us. I think, in the last round, the real Captain America managed to finally resist the nanites. He couldn't quite confess, but he had to hint that he was either a Secret Avenger or a Doom Squad member."

Cologne smiled. "You made a number of mistakes, but you did well. Now, it is time to go." She headed off in the direction of the teleporters, looking back to see if Ukyo would follow.

"There's still some people here I want to say goodbye to." Ukyo told Cologne. "I'll be there after I'm done here."

"You may say your goodbyes to the friends you have made here." Cologne replied. "Just remember that there are friends waiting for you back home." With that, Cologne headed off to the teleporters.

Ukyo knew that Cologne was right. Ranma was waiting for her back home, and so were Konatsu, and Ryoga, and the others. But she had made a friend or two here, as well. It was going to be hard to say goodbye.

Coming Soon: Epilogues for Dr. Doom and the Doomtations.

I see everyone is ok with the idea of voting for the next theme of the game. So we'll set it up like this: I'll let everyone continue posting their epilogues on wednesday and thursday. Then on thursday night, at the usual time, players can start handing in a theme for their game. I'll let it run until monday and then we'll vote afterwards. After a few days, whoever has the most votes gets to host the next game (and schedule it whenever they want).

I'd like to think if you go back and read my posts, you'll very clearly see that Cap was in the Doom Squad. At least in his inner monologues. It was harder, but not impossible, when Cap was communicating with the others but I'd like to think there was some ambiguity there too. I offer this as proof, ironically, it's verbal to Ukyo:
Cap felt sorry for Ukyo, the death of Meowth took its toll on her. He was sure her grief was genuine.

"I'm sorry Ukyo," Cap said. "I'm sorry for not being able to stop the Doom Squad in time. I'm sorry for all the killing. If I could take the place of any of you I would. Maybe I was wrong last round for not voting one of the Lightning suspect? Its too late to second guess ourselves now. We can only make our best attempt at banishing someone."
And this inner monologue:
Cap strode the hallways of Castle Doom. He had been quiet, lost in thought. The others had ignored his vote and fell into the Doom Squad's trap again. Five lightning wielders was four too many suspects. It looked like at least one would be voted out though, a small victory at least. He wondered if perhaps he should change his vote as he was sure one of the five had to be a Doom Squad member. It didn't matter now.

There was a banishment coming up...

...and another kill!

Captain America had to be prepared for both.

OOC: I see what you mean. Still, a number of the inner monologues at the time looked like Captain America was trying to figure out who did it, but I suppose they can also be construed as him trying to figure out who to vote for. There's also this bit of dialogue directed at Jeff.
Cap heard Jeff's remark about himself. "Its alright Jeff. No one should be excused as a suspect. I'm even open to the suggestion that a non-powered being could be in the Doom Squad." He looked closely at Jeff as he said this. "It probably would be a good idea for you separate yourself from me anyway. I know I've supported you so far. However you just can't know who is in the Doom Squad and I would hate for you to end up suffering for some perceived alliance with me. Trust your instincts, Jeff. You've done well so far."
Pretty good advice from Cap there, telling Jeff to distance himself. And in the end, he took that advice.

I kind of had the feeling that Cap's previous bits would look more ambiguous now that he was revealed. Still, Captain America was pretty low on my list of suspects up until that last round. I think it worked out great that Captain America was the last Traitor to be revealed. It made for an incredible endgame.

Well, Cologne's gone home, having done her minor role as Ukyo's advisor figure, but there will be one or two more Ukyo epilogue notes to come. After that, I'll post my suggested scenario for the next Traitor Game.

OOC: Just a heads up. I finished drawing and scanning the last set of Traitah Tradin' Cards. I'll post them after work today-- about 5:15-5:30 EST.

The Undertaker appeared once more. "This is only another game in this series. More of them will happen, and we can't stop them from trying. However, we can certainly make the bastards work for it."

Ukyo knew that the Undertaker was right. "You're right. But I hope I don't get chosen for the next one. I think I need a break from world-saving and trying to find hidden traitors for a while."

Ukyo paused. She looked around. She saw Meowth approaching.

Ukyo smiled, and sniffled a bit at the same time. Saying goodbye was going to be hard.

Fer once in a loooong time, I dinnit know what ta say. Dis wuz a real adventah an' I'll miss alla' dese crazy charactahs. Somehow, I t'ink Jessie an' James'll nevah believe alla' dese strange palookas I'd met.

I wuz doin' repairs ta my li'l egg-shaped robot (an' made sure my otha' robot wuz still smashin' metalhead's pottahry). It wuz no use. Da li'l robot still couldn't get da wasabi flavahed gum right. It wuzn't pre-chewed anymore, but it now had hair an' teeth. It did do some'tin right, though an' printed out da last of my patented "Traitah Tradin' Cards."

OOC: Jeff-E's was the hardest to do. The avatar didn't give me much to go on since it was so small, so I did my best with the earlier description of himself Jeff posted. Jeff, if you don't like it, let me know and I'll try again.

Schornforce - Haha! Great job!

RUMINATIONS: Well, this game was before we had a Discussion Thread, so a lot of what would have gone into the Discussion Thread ended up here along with the epilogues and extras. Some of what I say in the OOC posts is from the perspective of a second-time player. As time went on, I decided double eliminations are okay as long as the second eliminated is someone who's been inactive for three rounds.

Ah, the Traitah Tradin Cards. A wonderful bit of lightheartedness from Schornforce.

I was really into this Traitor Game, immersing myself into the role and all. So I was feeling sad that it was nearly over, and it shows in my posts here and in the next installment. Anyway, this game was a lot of fun for me, and very enjoyable. But I think a LOT of us were really into this one, and it shows.

The re-presentation continues in Part 25.
