And now Part 25 of the Traitor Game Essentials. Our characters go their seperate ways, we get some further epilogues tying in to both the previous game and the next game, and some OOC discussion as to what the next scenario will be.

I made sure ta wave goodbye to da various othas dat roamed around. I dinnit blame dat Captain guy wit' da dinnah dish fer offin' me. It was all dat lousy Doctah Flume's fault. I gave Pez a happy Wobbuffet-like salute an' told Jeff-E dat he wuz one smart cookie in dis whole crazy game. I also made sure ev'ryone got some a' my "Traitah Tradin' Cards."

Now came da hard part. I saw dat Ukyo dame approachin'. She looked real sad dat we hadda say "good-bye." I gots' ta admit, my eyes wuz gettin' mighty watery, too.

"Hiya, Ukyo!" I said, tryin' ta be cheerful. "I'm glad youse made it t'rough okay! I wuz worried fer awhile dat whoevah was tryin' ta frame youse might hoit ya.

Anyhow *sniff* I jus' wanted ya ta know dat you wuz real nice ta me an' I'll nevah fergit it. Dis here is fer you..."

"Thanks, Meowth." she said, sniffling. "Thanks for being such a good listener. Thanks for helping me through this."

"I'm glad I made it through okay, too." Ukyo said, slowly. "You helped a lot, Meowth. More than you know. I'm really going to miss you..."

Ukyo tried to wipe away her tears. "I wish you could come visit my world. But I don't know how you'd be able to visit. Even if you were to visit my dimension, you couldn't stop by Ucchan's when Ranma was around. He...he's afraid of cats. It's all because of one of his father's terrible training ideas. You don't want to know the whole story, believe me. But he just loses control of himself when there's a cat around."

Ukyo tried to cheer up. "I suppose, maybe if you came in one of your disguises..." She smiled a bit, and handed Meowth a business card for Ucchan's, and a special discount coupon.

"But you have your world to get back to." Ukyo said. "There are people that need you there. I've got people waiting for me back home, too."

Ukyo didn't really know what to say next. She struggled for the right words.

"Thanks for the cards. I'll treasure them always." She looked at the newest batch of cards as she said it. When she saw the Mantis caricature, she found herself laughing out loud. "That IS funny!" she said. "I just hope Mantis has a good sense of humor."

Ukyo turned back to Meowth. "Thanks for everything, Meowth. If it hadn't been for you, I don't know how I would have coped with all this. If I'm ever in your dimension, I'll look for you."

Ukyo was starting to sniffle again. She gave Meowth a warm, friendly hug. She released him gently. "Take good care of yourself, Meowth. I hope things work out for you back home."

Ukyo stopped. She really didn't know what else to say.

OOC: Loved the new cards. :)

The Purple Skull 02-07-2007 06:51 PM

I just found out that if you turn the card of your character over, you get their stats:

Awesome. Wish I had the time...

I must really get back to my schoolwork. I have a paper due tomorrow and what am I doing? Making stats for my meowth card. :p
I must really get back to my schoolwork. I have a paper due tomorrow and what am I doing? Making stats for my meowth card. :p
When do you think I colored mine? :p

Schornforce 02-07-2007 07:21 PM

"Aw, t'anks, kid. I'm glad I could do some'tin. Mebbe dere's some pokemon whut kin travel t'rough da various dimensions an' I kin visit ya... Mebbe I kin even bring my pals! I'm sure dey'd love ta try yer yummy food!"

A strange force wuz liftin' me offa' da ground. Ukyo wuz gettin' farther an' farther away!!! Da tears wouldn't stop flowin'-- "G'bye, Ukyo! I'll nevah fergit ya! An' dat guy you like-- youse two'll get togetha! I know it! Don't evah give up! T'anks fer every'tin!!!" I waved goodbye one last time...

Den dere wuz a flash a' light an' I wuz gone.

I wuz floatin' in a void again. My only souveniers wuz da stuff Ukyo gave me an' a pack a' da tradin' cards. An den--

GREETINGS, MEOWTH. YOU HAVE DONE WELL.

"Oh great. Da disembodied whozawitz again. Listen, pal, couldn't youse have waited 'till latah ta take me back? I wuz sayin' good-bye ta my new friend! Besides, despite what Ukyo said, I dinnit do nuthin'-- all my guesses wuz wrong."

YOUR GUESSES ARE NOT IMPORTANT, MEOWTH. YOU KEPT SPIRITS UP AND HELPED THE OTHERS MAINTAIN A COOL HEAD.

AS FOR WHY I HAVE TAKEN YOU BACK NOW-- YOUR FRIENDS NEED YOU...

Jessie: *sigh* that twerpy kid beat us again.

James: Why do we always have to fail?...

Wobbuffet: (sadly) Wobba...

Jessie: Sometimes, I think we should just give up and get a real job!

James: Eeeeeeeooooo! I could run an internet message board!

Jessie: *smacks James heartily* I SAID A REAL JOB, JAMES!!!

Wobbuffet: WOBBA!!

Jessie and James: *sigh* we're such losers.

James: I bet the boss wouldn't even care if we quit...

Jessie: Maybe he doesn't even know we're alive...

Dis is where I appeared! I fell outta da sky like crazy an' landed on toppa my team mates! Aftah we picked ourselves up an' dusted ourselves off, we hadda group hug an' Jessie asked where I'd been. I wuz about ta tell dem all da stuff dat happened, but den James saw my "Traitah Tradin' Cards." He squealed in his goilish fashion an' said dat dose intah'restin' costumes wuz givin' him some great ideas fer catchin' dat twoip's Pikachu! Jessie agreed wit' him an' added dat I musta' been off devisin' ingenious new plans ta catch a load a' pokemon fer da boss! Dey seemed ta be enah-gized by my reappearance.

"Uh... yeah, dat's right! I got plenty a' new plans ta get a pack a' pokemon fer da Boss! Mebbe a big "Mighty Mashin' Meowth" robot ta knock da pokemon on da noggin, stunnin' dem so's we kin nab 'em! Or a li'l egg-shaped robot ta print out highly collectible pokemon tradin' cards dat'll distract da twoips-- leavin' alla' deir pokemon as easy pickin's! Or we could fix some tasty food an' put one'a our patented smoke bombs inside an' when da twoips try an' eat it, da smoke'll pour out an' blind 'em long enough ta do our doity woik! Um... a big white robot wit' metal moon shaped claws... or one wit' a green cape dat has a lotta similar robots it kin send out..."

As I kept t'inkin' up more an' more plans, Jessie an' James kept gettin' happier an' more excited until...

Prepare for trouble, now that our Meowth's back! And make it double, he's the leader of this pack!

 • Jessie glares evilly at James, and hits him*

An evil as old as the galaxy!!!!

 • James cowers*

Owwie! Sent here to fulfill our destiny! "An' MEOWTH! Dere's me!!!" Now that Meowth's back in our universe-- Team Rocket'll be there "Ta make everyt'ing woise!" WOBBUFFET!!!

 • sigh* I'd missed da motto. While Jessie an' James kept on makin' new plans, I wandahed off to a hill an' watched da moon. I wuz wonderin' if mebbe alla da otha woilds out dere shared da same sky... an' da same moon...

YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT YOUR NEW FRIENDS...

"Huh? Oh yeah. I kinda miss 'em... Ukyo, Pez, Buggy Roo Ball, Cap'n Dinnahplate, Mooney, dat Jeff guy, um... dat guy who dressed kinda like an Ariados, uh... da goil wit' da 'ting who had dat hair.... ...

an' da rest."

I THOUGHT SO. WELL, HERE IS A SPECIAL TREAT FOR YOU...

As I lissened ta dat baritone voice, a small bag o' Ukyo's special okonomiyaki dropped outta da sky.

"Wow! T'anks!" I said while my eyes started ta get all watery again, "But, why're ya bein' so nice ta me? I t'ought I'd hoid da Livin' Communal wuz sposed'ta be kinda grouchy..."

I AM NOT THE LIVING TRIBUNAL... ALTHOUGH WE DO SOUND AN AWFUL LOT ALIKE...

"Huh? Den who are ya?"

WHY, I'M THE NARRATOR, OF COURSE. I FOLLOW YOU, YOUR FRIENDS, ASH, AND HIS FRIENDS ALL THROUGHOUT YOUR ADVENTURES...

"So you're a stalker..."

THAT'S FOR THE COURTS TO DECIDE. BUT UNTIL THAT HAPPENS, I'LL LEAVE YOU NOW ON YOUR POKEMON JOURNEY-- KNOWING THAT YOU'LL FORGE FRIENDSHIPS NOT ONLY HERE, BUT IN THE MOST UNEXPECTED PLACES.

"Meowth! Dat's Right!"

OOC: I love the Doom Meowth card stats, Purple Skull!

Also, thanks for the compliment, Chris Lang.

Joe Acro 02-07-2007 07:31 PM

Schornforce, your efforts and role-playing skill in this game make me want to have an MVP award at the end of every game just so you'll get something now.

Indigo Al 02-07-2007 07:35 PM

agreed on all counts - thanks for the Prez card, Schorn!

Schornforce 02-07-2007 07:37 PM

OOC:

Thank you, Joe Acro. You're very kind. :)

No prob. Indigo Al-- and thank you as well.

Chris Lang 02-07-2007 08:03 PM

OOC: Schornforce, I have to second the MVP thing. You really added a lot to the game.

Loved that Meowth epilogue, by the way. It was the perfect way to wrap up Meowth's part of the story. It was both funny and touching.

And Purple Skull, loved the stats. They were really funny.

Well, I've got to get to work on Ukyo's homecoming now.

After singing the new hip-hop remix of New Latveria's national anthem, the Doomtations made their way to the teleporters. But where exactly did they end up?

It just so happened the Doomtations ended up in the Earth of Prez Rickard. With the help of the teen president, the singing group was able to land a record deal with Motown. It would only take them 6 months to take the music world by storm. The Doomtations continued their reign at the top for the next few years until they were finally dethroned......by The Impossibles! The Doomtations are currently in a musical rivalry with the rock and roll trio for supremacy in the music world.

As for Victor Von Doom? Well as you may remember, the former Ruler of the Multiverse was banished to an unknown location by the Living Tribunal. Where exactly did he land?

Where am I? Where did that scoundral place me? The Living Tribunal can bet that he made a powerful enemy that day! That will be something I shall remember for a lifetime! Wherever I am, it cannot be worst than when I was in hell...

Just then, Dr. Doom notices a billboard. "Welcome to Newark, New Jersey!"

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Chris Lang 02-08-2007 07:35 AM

Ukyo watched sadly as Meowth was summoned back to his home dimension. She missed him already.

She stood there silently, and wiped away her tears. Meowth had gone home. Jeff, Moon Knight, Jade, Captain America, and many of the others had also left by this time.

"I guess it's time for me to go." Ukyo said, to those who were still getting ready to leave. "I don't really know what else to say now. It's like Jeff said. It's going to be hard getting back to my normal life after this. But I've got to try."

She waved goodbye, and then stepped into the transporter. Her surroundings disappeared in a flash of light.

She found herself outside the front door of Ucchan's Okonomiyaki in Nerima. It appeared to be late at night, as only a few of the surrounding shops were open. There was, however, a light within Ucchan's. She trusted that Konatsu, at least, was waiting for her inside.

Ukyo paused before stepping inside. She thought of Meowth. She wondered if she would ever see him again. She also thought about Jeff, and Jade, and some of the other people she had come to like. She remembered Jade's encounter with the Bard. If the Bard from the previous game could cross paths with Jade, then just about anything was possible.

Thinking about it gave her hope of seeing her new friends again someday. With this in mind, she opened the door to Ucchan's and stepped inside.

"Ucchan!" Ranma exclaimed, calling Ukyo by the nickname he had given her long ago. He sounded more glad to see Ukyo than she'd ever heard him sound before.

Ranma was far from alone. Akane was there, along with her sisters Nabiki and Kasumi. Genma Saotome and Soun Tendo were at a table in a corner playing Shogi, while Konatsu was cleaning the griddle. Ryoga Hibiki sat alone at a table near the door.

"Ranma was really worried about you." Akane told Ukyo. "Especially after Cologne received that letter you wrote her. He really wanted to come with her to help you, but she wouldn't let him. Cologne told us to help Konatsu run this place while you were away. If nothing else, it gave us all something to do."

"So you saved the world?" Ranma asked.

"I had help." Ukyo replied, with a smile.

"Tell us about it!" Ranma said eagerly. From his tone, he sounded like he knew he'd missed out on quite an adventure.

"I don't know where to begin," Ukyo replied. "I'm still kind of overwhelmed by everything. I saw so many strange things there. I won't lie to you. There were times I was almost scared out of my wits. Did Cologne show you my whole letter?"

"Yeah." said Ranma. "I would have smashed that spike-monster if I was there! And I'd have taken out those no-good Traitors!"

"I'm glad you weren't there." Ukyo replied. "Every night, I had to worry about who was going to be killed next. I didn't even suspect the last Traitor until we were near the end. But we found him out. All our worlds are safe now."

"Oh my..." Kasumi interjected.

"It was scary at times, but it wasn't all bad. Despite everything, I made some new friends while I was there. But things got really crazy. I saw a whole lot of strange things, some of which I may never understand."

"Would you like to tell us about it?" Kasumi asked.

"In the morning, maybe." Ukyo replied. "I've been through a lot, and I really need some sleep."

With that, Ukyo excused herself and headed off to her apartment at the back of Ucchan's. She then unpacked what she had taken with her from the castle.

It was not much. She had the notes she had written every night, recounting each day's events. There were the letters Cologne had sent her. And of course, there were Meowth's 'Traitah Tradin' Cards'.

Ukyo thought about Meowth's last words to her before he was sent home. Once again, he had told her not to give up trying to win Ranma's heart. That was very sweet of him, but Ukyo was still having her doubts.

Ranma had clearly been worried sick about her, but he had been waiting to meet her with Akane. Akane was okay, aside from the fact that she couldn't cook a decent meal and often at times didn't seem to get along with Ranma at all. But Ukyo still wished that Ranma would come around and choose her instead of Akane.

Ukyo did not know how this whole triangle between her, Ranma, and Akane would be settled. Though it seemed almost certain that Ranma and Akane would be married sooner or later, Ukyo couldn't give up yet. She owed it to Meowth to at least try.

She thought again about the people she had met in the Traitor Game. Some of them had problems worse than hers, or Ranma's for that matter.

For the moment, she was emotionally spent. The Traitor Game had been quite an experience. She was glad now that it was over. Of course she knew the Undertaker was right. There would be more Traitor Games in the future. She hoped whoever got chosen for them would be up to the challenge.

With a smile, Ukyo took the 'Traitah Tradin' Cards' and placed them on her desk. She placed two in particular at the very top of the desk. One was the Meowth caricature of Ukyo. The other was the 'chase card' featuring Meowth dressed up in his detective outfit.

Ukyo had just been through the greatest adventure of her life. She had faced much hardship, but she had managed to come through in the end. But she could not have done it without help.

She looked at the Meowth chase card, and then at some of the other cards. Thank you.

Ukyo turned to her notes. She would have quite the story to tell Ranma and the others in the morning.

OOC: And this indeed has been quite a story. I'll probably have more comments in another note. And then it'll be on to the next game scenarios.

The Purple Skull 02-08-2007 02:49 PM

So tonight at around 11 pm et, players can start posting their scenarios for the next game. That'll run until monday at the same time.

Chris Lang 02-08-2007 03:52 PM

OOC: I suppose I don't need the OOC now since that last note was probably the last in-character note I'll write as Ukyo in this thread. :(

That last note was a hard one to write on several levels. For one, it was hard to follow up Schornforce's conclusion to Meowth's part. For another, I've had a lot of fun in this game. Of the characters I've played in Traitor Games so far (both of them), Ukyo is my new favorite. However, I think I'll play someone else in the next game. After the emotional roller coaster Ukyo's been on during this game, I think I want to give her a break from these sort of scenarios for a while.

As I've said before, I loved how it all worked out from a story perspective. These Traitor Games are like murder mystery party scenarios. While the host knows 'whodunnit', it's all improvised. Just about anything can happen. But here, everything worked out to become 'one hell of a story', as the Purple Skull said. The endgame was particularly intense, with a great twist ending out of a good mystery thriller.

From a comedy perspective, this was probably the best Traitor Game yet. Schornforce's Meowth gave us some wonderful comic relief, and of course Purple Skull's Dr. Doom was fun as always. Prez's sit-in was one of the greatest laugh-out loud moments in the game, and of course many of the others got some good bits in, too.

I loved the Doombot battle. One of the problems with the Traitor Games is that while many of us choose characters with special abilities, training, or whatever, there aren't a whole lot of chances for our characters to show what they can do without making themselves look suspicious. The Doombot battle scenario was a great solution to that problem, and it fit in perfectly with the storyline. I was glad for the chance to have Ukyo go all out and kick Doombot you-know-what. :) I wrote in some bits which I hoped would be amusing. Of course, Prez's sit in really stole the show. Great job there, Indigo Al.

Of course, the character interaction was great. Ukyo's friendship with Meowth, Jeff-E's hero worship of Cap, Jade's arguments with Mantis, and Dr. Strange and Beta Ray Bill...all great stuff. One of my favorite aspects of the Traitor Games is bringing together people from several different universes, and seeing how they'll interact.

If there's a down side to this game, it's all the inactive players and the missed opportunities for interaction with their characters. Unfortunately, several of them were unable to participate due to various real life problems (computer problems, having to be somewhere where they couldn't reach a computer, conflicting commitments with other CBR activities).

To Young Avenger, Legato, Kholdhearted, Nomad, Spidey-kid1, and Grimshadow...no hard feelings. If you feel you can play a more active role in the next Traitor Game, I for one would be glad to see you there. Maybe you can even play the same characters to make up for their absence during most of this game, but that's up to you.

But all in all, I'm amazed at how everything worked out. This game had just the right mix of suspense, comedy, and dramatic tension. It's going to be a tough act to follow. But I think I just might be there for the next one anyway. I'll post a scenario some time after 11 pm tonight.

But in any case, it's been great fun playing this Traitor Game with you all. :)

Schornforce 02-08-2007 04:08 PM

I loved Ukyo's epilogue. I thought it was very sweet! :)

OOC: Thanks. I wanted to end on, at least, a hopeful note. I don't mind telling you, those last few notes had me pretty choked up myself. Of course, I have Anthony Johanson to thank for contributing that little subplot that provided Ukyo with some hope. In any case, at least she has those cards as reminders of certain friends of hers. :)

Well, it's been fun, but I'm looking forward to seeing what new characters everyone picks in the next game. And who knows? Ukyo could show up in a small non-player role like Cologne did in this game. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

Interesting....

tangentman 02-08-2007 10:35 PM

When Ukyo finished looking at the cards, she noticed a potted plant that hadn't been in her room before. A white orchid fringed with the most vivid purple petal tips sat in a simple clay pot. If Ukyo inspected the flower, she would smell a subtle, yet soothing fragrance. Upon smelling the flower, she would also hear a gentle "voice".

"This One apologizes for her aloofness when we parted. She bears no grudge against you or any other from the game. At the time of our parting, She sensed vibrations which alerted her to the greater threat arising from these games. This One wanted to warn you of a coming danger from the 'Traitor' games. She hopes when next we meet, we will do so as allies. Until then...if you ever need This One's aid, then speak her name to the orchid and her help is yours. Until then...may you know gentler times."

Epiloge 2: Cologne's room

While Ukyo reacclimated herself to her home, Cologne found her own surprise awaiting her. A sleek, silver orb sat on a small bedside table. The Chinese Amazon would not recognize it. The orb certainly wasn't one of her weapons or possessions.

OOC: I'm still interested in hosting the Madame Xanadu scenario if you want a "GM". I've already thought of ways to incorporate the Plop points. :)

Chris Lang 02-08-2007 10:55 PM
Interesting....
OOC: Indeed it is. Looks like Eternal Torment's characters in each Traitor Game are part of some sort of conspiracy. Of course, it sounds like it's also Eternal Torment's way of saying "Count me in for the next Traitor Game!"

Of course, I have my little subplots too. Cologne's wishing to learn more about the Traitor Games was a subplot began in the previous Traitor Game. Unlike the conspiracy with Eternal Torment's characters, she's not actively out to put a stop to the Traitor Games. Cologne just wants to see if she can figure out just why the Traitor Games are happening.

I suppose whoever hosts the next game might want to PM Eternal Torment if they'd like to have that conspiracy subplot play a factor in such things as the hosts' interaction with ET's character, or whatever. Anyway, I agree that it's an interesting twist.

Joe Acro 02-08-2007 10:58 PM

By my clock, it's 11:00. I don't care what CBR says.

Idea:

Immortus, master of time and Limbo, had become fed up. In every Traitor Game, people were thrust into his domain. They distracted him from his job and left behind scraps upon being returned to life.

More importantly, though, he needed energy. Those terrible Limbo viewing screens had left dangerous rifts in the space-time continuum. In order to repair them, he would need to gather people from different realities with different power levels in order to have the right type of energy.

And so he does.

Where to go from there? Obviously a new game. I don't want to reveal that part of the story.

There would be no limits on characters (unless you guys want there to be), but some elements would be changed: If someone wants to have a special role, they can PM me beforehand with whichever role and whatever reason.

The Breaker role would be determined on a case-by-case basis. In the event of a tie, someone who voted for neither candidate would be chosen as Breaker and be asked to break the tie.

The Agents or Avengers role would be modified (more information upon request), with possibly more members in the team/group.

One Traitor would gain a special ability (more information upon request).

Whoever has a game scenario can start posting them. The last day to post one will be on Monday 11 PM ET. Also, if you have more than one scenario in mind, feel free to post it.

I'll resubmit my Valhalla idea, slightly adjusted, in case anyone might find it interesting

The Traitor Game: I'll Take Valhalla!

With your hosts, the All-Father Odin and Hela, Goddess of Death!

Plot: Every few years, the Norns spin their threads to compel Odin and Hela to compete in a challenge for ultimate ownership of Valhalla.

Should the Agents of H.E.L.A (Her Evil Lowlife Associates) succeed in killing Odin's Warriors [However many people sign up minus the Agents of H.E.L.A.], Hela will have the right to annex Valhalla and damn all the souls of Asgard's noble brave dead!

The Warriors [However many people sign up minus the Agents of H.E.L.A.] MUST succeed in banishing the Agents of H.E.L.A. and saving Valhalla - if not, that means the forces of Asgardian evil will win Ragnarok!!!

One player will be appointed as Hugin or Mugin, Raven of Odin (the Secret Avenger)

I have ideas for immunity challenges, musical guests, and other stuff.

No character theme on this - anyone can play who they please.

tangentman 02-08-2007 11:50 PM

OOC: Al, I think heroes/villains in your scenario should have died at some point. They can be characters returned from the dead, but for a story set in Valhalla, I think they should have died at some point in their careers/series/etc.

I'll also re-submit my idea. It's In The Cards--a cast of heroes, villains, and bystanders find themselves abducted from points of change or turmoil in their lives and brought into a sinister game of murder in a certain curio shop in Greenwich Village. The mysterious "Madame Xanadu" attempts to help the "players" as much as she can--thanks to a spell cast by a mysterious "Host", she can only offer aid in the forms of Tarot readings.

Player requirement: Any character is available, provided he or she come from a major crisis or crossroads in his/her life. Examples: Buffy newly returned from the dead, Peter Parker during the first appearance of the Gwen Stacy clone, Scarlet Witch during her trek to discover her origins in Wundagore, Dick Grayson shortly after the abandonment of his "Robin" identity.

Plop points will be allowed at GM discretion. Players will have a one chance in the game to avoid death or banishment (if the time comes). I'll explain more if I get the next game.

Chris Lang 02-09-2007 12:20 AM

Epilogue 2: Cologne's room

While Ukyo reacclimated herself to her home, Cologne found her own surprise awaiting her. A sleek, silver orb sat on a small bedside table. The Chinese Amazon would not recognize it. The orb certainly wasn't one of her weapons or possessions.

OOC: I'm still interested in hosting the Madame Xanadu scenario if you want a "GM". I've already thought of ways to incorporate the Plop points. :)
OOC: That was an interesting way for Mantis to get in touch with Ukyo after she'd already returned home. I was kind of hoping you'd post a response to Ukyo's apology, but I felt that it was for the best that Ukyo leave after she and Meowth said their goodbyes. It was nice that Mantis was able to respond anyway.

It's my wish for Ukyo to know gentler times for a while too, which is why she probably won't be my PC in the next Traitor Game. I think she's earned the rest.

Hmm...a silver orb? Could that be associated with the Madame Xanadu scenario? To be honest, the curio store setting sounds a little 'cramped' and claustrophobic for a Traitor Game. I personally liked the largeness of Castle Doom in this game. We were even given new rooms to play around in nearly every round. :)

Well, I might as well post a short epilogue for Cologne here....

IC:

The morning after Ukyo returned home, Cologne received a phone call. Ukyo said she was fine, but still a bit overwhelmed. She had told Ranma, Akane, and the others her story, but they really didn't know how to react. Ukyo had also heard from Mantis.

"It is good that you were able to put your differences behind you." Cologne told Ukyo on the phone. "I made mistakes during the game I was a part of, too. But I atoned and apologized for them. I have not had the opportunity to speak with this Mantis, but from what I have heard about her, she would indeed be a valuable ally. If there are to be more dangers to our worlds in the future, we may need all the allies we can get."

"For now, enjoy your rest. You have earned it."

Cologne had returned to the Nekohanten immediately after leaving Castle Doom. She thought it was best not to speak to Ukyo until the following morning. When the Amazon elder had left on her journey, Shampoo had shared her suspicion that Cologne might be deserting her in favor of her rival in the competition for Ranma. Cologne had been forced to assure her great-granddaughter that this was not the case.

Cologne had spent much of the night speaking with Shampoo and Mousse, and generally making sure things were returning to what passed for normal. She had also looked through the notes she had taken after reading the Traitor Game books in Dr. Doom's library.

Cologne was convinced now more than ever that there was some great cosmic purpose for all these Traitor Games. However, she still could not determine just what that purpose was. Were they some sort of test? Cologne was not sure, though the 'test' theory did make a certain amount of sense.

After hanging up the phone, Cologne made her way to her room at the back of the Nekohanten. It was then that she saw something that had not been there before. A sleek, silver orb sat on her bedside table.

Cologne had seen such orbs before. Several people in the mystical community used them as a means of observing other people. They also used them as a means of communication with others who had similiar orbs.

Just as Cologne was pondering this mystery, Mousse arrived at her door. "This package was left at the door." Mousse said simply, setting a box down on the floor before walking away.

Cologne looked at the package cautiously, as she saw no return address on it. After several minutes of careful inspection, she decided to open it. Inside were three DVD boxes, and a letter. Cologne picked up the letter to read it.
"Elder Cologne,

Your friend the okonomiyaki cook wanted to bring home DVDs of the battle with the Doombots, but the Media Room's supply of DVDs had all been destroyed. She will be glad to know that I had been observing that whole game as well, and made my own DVDs. I am sending them to you in advance of payment. I trust that when I tell you what I am charging, you will come up with the money.

Signed, DJTSH"
Cologne raised an eyebrow. It seemed now that she had two mysteries on her hands.

OOC: Okay, maybe this wasn't such a short epilogue after all. :) In any case, I'll post my own scenario soon.

Chris Lang 02-09-2007 01:13 AM

Okay, I might as well resubmit my idea, especially since I've mentioned it at least three times before during the prologue and epilogue stages of this game.

Traitor Game: A Galaxy Far, Far, Away

After the deaths of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, it was thought that the Sith were finally extinct. That was not the case, for Palpatine had a secret second apprentice. This apprentice was Jabba the Hutt's lesser known cousin. After several training sessions in which Palpatine instructed him in the ways of the Dark Side of the Force, Jabba's cousin became known as Darth Jubba, the Sith Hutt.

But now, thanks to the help of a mysterious entity, Darth Jubba can look in on other universes -- and not just alternate Star Wars universes, either. Some are worlds in which his entire galaxy is fictitious. Having taken charge of Jabba the Hutt's operations, Darth Jubba now wishes to expand his operations to these other worlds. However, he is not going to be unopposed.

A whole bunch of characters are summoned to Darth Jubba's palace in the desert of Tatooine. Two or three of them, however, will be secretly Darth Jubba's Imperial Stormtroopers (traitors). However, someone from one of the other universes has picked a few of the players to be part of the 'Rebel Alliance' (agents). This person has also hired a Bounty Hunter (vigilante) who will attempt to do in the Imperial Stormtroopers.

All characters from all over the fantasy/sci-fi-/comic book/whatever landscape are welcome.

As for the 'Plop' points, I think I'll have to look over that idea again, and maybe ask a few more questions via PM so I'm clear on the concept before using it. But it sounds interesting.

As for the identity of the person who picks the Rebel Alliance members and hires the Bounty Hunter, I won't give that away right now. I'll probably reveal it right away if this scenario gets chosen. :)

moonknight2099 02-09-2007 07:48 AM

Wow. We have some cool scenarios so far. They all sound fun. I have one question though. Do we start voting on these after Monday at 11:00 or when? I assume it's after Monday, just curious.

Tangentman, one idea might be to set the game in Baron Winters's mansion in Washington DC. This would be perfect because the mansion is supposed to be outside of time and space. You could even have a broom closet in Madame Xanadu's shop open into the mansion - players can move back and forth, but never outside the confines of either. Just a thought.

The Purple Skull 02-09-2007 01:25 PM

After the deadline, I'll set up a poll on this thread so you guys can vote on what scenario you want.

OOC: Makes sense to me. By the way, I liked the epilogues with the Doomtations and Dr. Doom. And it was good that you provided a link just so those of us who aren't familiar with the Impossibles know who they are.

tangentman 02-09-2007 06:57 PM

OOC:

Chris--I wanted to clarify that the game setting won't be limited to the shop itself. Players will also have access to the parlour, basement, kitchen, and the interdimensional bar from Shadowpact. There will also be one other nexus to a surprise location. Al, I like your idea, and will incorporate it to cover the sleeping arrangements. Baron Winters' mansion will be a "No Fire" zone between the kills and banishments.

OOC:Thanks for clearing things up about the setting. Your idea is sounding even more interesting, now.

I wasn't originally going to do any more epilogue bits, but I think I'll have this Cologne scene since apparently a certain question won't be answered unless I further that bit somehow...

IC:

Three hours after the DVDs had arrived, Cologne had decided it was best to finish her investigation of that mystery for now. The DVDs were nothing more than they appeared to be. They were recordings of several portions of the Traitor Game at Castle Doom, including a complete filming of the battle with the Doombots.

Cologne was impressed by all of the players' tactics against the Doombots. Ukyo had risen to the occasion, holding very little back against Doom's servants. Captain America, Jade Curtiss, Dr. Strange, and many of the others proved themselves capable fighters. And Prez Rickard's tactic surprised and impressed Cologne. She knew that whatever United States he was President of was fortunate to have him.

The DVDs themselves contained no information as to where they might have come from or who may have sent them. All Cologne had to go on was the letter. Its last line was not a good sign. This 'DJTSH' had promised to contact her again to tell her just what he expected her to pay for the DVDs. Cologne sensed that this being may very well be the cause of much trouble in the future.

Shelving the mystery of the DVDs for now, Cologne returned to her room to face the other mystery, which she was sure was unrelated. The silver orb still sat there on the nightstand. Who had sent this orb? Who was trying to send her a message?

There was only one way to find out. Cologne approached the orb cautiously, and waited to see what would happen next.

Joe Acro 02-09-2007 08:26 PM

So out of the four proposed stories, two of them flow from this game and one fits in with the continuity of the game. Al's going to win just for being different.

OOC: Your scenario with Immortus being fed up seems interesting, though I'm wondering just where players are going to be banished if his place in Limbo is going to be the setting. Of course, as I type this, there's only one confirmed setup for one of the scenarios so far, and that's the mysterious 'DJTSH'. I PM'ed tangentman about the silver orb and was told I wouldn't find out any more without investigating, so I posted that note above. Originally, I was going to have Cologne's epilogue end with her trying to decide which mystery to investigate first.
OOC: Your scenario with Immortus being fed up seems interesting, though I'm wondering just where players are going to be banished if his place in Limbo is going to be the setting.
Limbo is merely the initial setting, for story purposes. And there would be no banishing.

OOC: That's silly! Speaking for myself, I offered a game that could stand on its own. Don't eliminate us because the roleplayers among us (including me) might like a chance to build a meta-arc.

When Cologne's fingertips brushed the silver surface of the orb, she felt a tingle. The orb crackled as a small glow emanated from the alien device. A beam formed into a 3 dimensional hologram of a person quite familiar to Cologne: Donna Troy. The hologram stood approximately 12 inches in height, and resembled the future incarnation that the Chinese Elder encountered in the culmination of the previous game.

As Cologne watched the hologram, Donna gave her a friendly wave. "Hi, Cologne!"

RUMINATIONS: Well, I don't need to talk too much about Ukyo's epilogue. I said most of what I have to say about it above. Of course Ukyo has made some further appearances in smaller roles in later games, including the next one.

It's interesting to see what the initial conception was for some scenarios and how they differed from the scenarios that eventually resulted. But the scenarios we discuss here ended up coming to pass.

The re-presentation, with more epilogue and bonus features, continues in part 26.
